Ok, so for christmas, I got a new pc. It is basically all around better than my old rig. So I install BF2, start playing, etc., and wonder if I should up the graphics settings. so the first thing I do is make the resolution higher.
Big mistake. turns out my old monitor, which is a Magnavox television that does double-time for me, cant run this resolution. So I reinstalled the game and have no problems anymore, But I still want to set the resolution higher.
I think I want a CRT but I really have no clue what I'm looking for. any amount of help would be appreciated.

Spend a little more and get a decent LCD.

19" LCD's are pretty cheap and do 1280x1024, which should put some pressure on your new rig, and they are big enough to see your enemies.

LCD's are nice and save space, but they aren't necessarily king. You can get a 21" CRT for a decent price ($80-$120), and won't really have to worry about contrast, brightness, response time and warbly/discolored screens.

Just don't sit your ass down three inches in front of it.
