When I was commander, I hit Caps Lock and then zoomed in really fast and got this screen:

When you normally zoom in x3 it looks like this:

Is this a glitch or have I just never seen / used it before?

i was pretty thrilled about it ;P i could spot enemies without using uav etc. helped my team quite a bit.

Yep I had that as well..even though I couldn't be bothered by it..because it looked cooler and gave me a better view of the battlefield

Well that's gotta be pretty rare because I have never seen it. Played BF2 for over 200+ hours I belive and BF2142 for over 120+ hours. Have yet to see this.
