There is no reason whatsoever for you to get more RAM, not for gaming at any rate.
A better CPU is your best bet. What socket is your MB?

Your 7950GT should be much faster than your 2x6600GTs.

A reasonable price for a 6600GT would be around £40.

Get a 3700+ San Diego, or if you want dual core get a Opteron 165. They're both regarded as the best 939 CPUs.

An 8800 GTS is still going for £300 odd, and not everyone can some up that kind of cash, besides dx10 only games are years away, dx9 will still be on the go for a long time yet.

your stupid m8, if you dont know what ur talking about, please leave the tech section.

i heard you can upgrade to dx10 if you have dx9 and also. you need vista to run dx10 games, that quite funny, does it say above that i have vista.

Only way to upgrade a dx9 card to dx10, is to buy an actual dx10 card, though they are releasing software for dx9 to help it tackle dx10 applications.

Already out mate, Nvidia have the 8 series 8800GTS and 8800GTX with another card joining the lineup soon, ATI have theres also coming soon (R600), but there all going for atleast £300 and topping at something around the £600 mark, watercooled 8800GTX's I see fetch £550-600 :S.  I think Alan wake is the first proper dx10 game and is due out soon.  You wont actually need a dx10 card to play games for a while, but most dx9 cards will strugle with these games.

DX10 will require the Vista operating system and a DX10 capable GPU.

As of now you can run DX10 with XP.  But when games that utilize the DX10 software come out I believe that you will need vista.

That's complete rubbish. There is not and will never be an official implementation of DX10 for XP. There is a version of DX10 in development by Wine for XP and Linux platforms though.

I don't think Alan Wake is due to be the first DX10 game. In fact I've heard rumours it may be delayed till 2008, although I don't know how true they are. FSX is out and will use DX10 in Vista (using a patch to add a new DX10 render path), but currently there are no Vista drivers for G80 family cards.

The features of DX10 can be seen in XP using the Nvidia demos, but that is simply a case of implementing the SM4 commands, possibly through an OpenGL API. It is NOT DX10.
