Cloaking vs. Player

Was playing on Fall Of Berlin last night, and when I was running around cloaking I saw that a lot of players didn't see me as I ran past them, I even ran on a player, but he still didn't see or shoot at me.
I actully manage to get to the last flag running next to all the enemy players.. I mean, are people so blind? I have problems to notice a few cloaking players, but I are able to see many of them. And I hardly lose them..

The sentury gun is a of a problem tho..

But there are so many blind/stupid players on BF2142 because you should be able to hear or see a cloaking person standing right in front of you...

The cloacking has been drasticly improved since the last patch.
(Now it seems that half the server is using it on maps like Gibraltar / Cerbere ...)
So over greater distances players shouldn't see you, but like you say; you were close enough to hump their legs. Yes they should/hear see you..

I often see cloaked people on Gibraltar because of the orange. White against orange is very noticable, unlike other colours.

I think it's quite easy to see and hear cloaked people and they are such easy targets since they don't have a gun in there hand. I see them quite often and in some situations you know they will come so you look for them. On Cerbere Landing there is a 95% chans that cloaked ppl will run upp to the first to flags...

But on the other hand.... if I don't see them I don't know that they were there....

At medium to long range, I have often missed the cloaked recon guys...I think it's time for me to break out the sneaking suit again and go all ninja-like.

Cloak--->Decloak & pull out knife---> Countless knife kills, if you're lucky and flank the entire team. Or, just keep to the edge of the maps (like Berlin, Belgrade, Tunis Harbor) and rush a back flag; if you can get more guys doing the same thing, all the better.

Before you could see snipers easy even far away, now when they are 20m infront of you you wont see them. My friend though it was a bug when i was away from him but still within decent sight range. Our worst enemies is the UAV and support guys. Other than that we can just sneak on the far right or left side of the map.

ya the cloak is so much better now... i actually bother to equip it. it comes in handy for taking out the walker noobs... lol they never see it coming.

i like using cloak + pistol IMO because the hit box for the knife sucks so bad that if your first knife attack misses and he turns around ur screwed, but with the pistol you definitely make the kill (i am more into a high K/D than a ton of dogtags...)

Its called support class. The helmet lets u see cloaked people. Then tells ur squad. Ie cloaked person = fucked.

on gillabrator or we i used cloke and kinfed 10 differnt guys with active camo i even crouched right infront of a guy i was 1 foot away he dident c or here me till i put my knife in his balls lol

i rely on my hearing for people trying to sneak past when cloaked, seriously if you don't move or fire your weapon or anything then its increadibly easy to hear the hum of the cloak and the sound of their footsteps on the ground from a good 10 metres away (if it's quiet anyway)

however you can hardly hear anything else in the game if you fire your weapon so you probably could sneak up behind someone cloaking with ease if they are preoccupied shooting something/one

so that you wandered across the whole map doesn't seem so surprising.

Depends a lot on the map. Desert maps are much easier to see, as the cloak makes a grey shadow effect. Berlin and Belgrade have greyish buildings as their background, which the cloak blends into. Cerbere also works quite well, although the distances aren't really big enough to use it properly.
