OK, being stupid at 11 years old (I'm 16 now) I decided I would share my bedroom with my little brother and have the other room be a playroom.

Now that I'm 16, I only need one thing: my comp. I play it every night but I'm forced off the comp at 8 because it's my bro's bedtime. Gay. So, having a c2d and an excellent heatsink, I turned the CPU fan off, the chassis fan off, and the only thing you can hear is the HDD and the PSU fan. But. They're both quite loud.

Is there any way to reduce both these things? I could get the adaptor to get the HDD in the 5.25 bay, but what about the PSU fan, it's quite quiet but loud at night lol.

Anyway, I starting to get pissed off, coz i can't play at night until the extension on my house is done which is like in march....

A) Why not put your computer in the "playroom"?

B) You can probably replace your PSU's fan with a slower one, which in turn means less sound. Is your hard drive making clicking noises? That's a sign that it's gonna die. Back up your important info, and get a new drive. If it's been loud all this time, I think they have sound dampeners for them

C) I don't think it's wise to turn off your CPU fan...

erm.....why don't you just explain to your parents that you would like your own room now that you are 16 and as the playroom is free, could you use that?

All parents were teenagers once themselves (although you might not think it) and they should understand.

That would probaly be the best thing to do, turning those fans off is most likely NOT a good idea.

A - Playroom is upstairs, not gonna put the internet cable through the ceiling

B - It's always been clicky, never died on me, it's brand new !

C - it a good heatsink. Believe it or not, temps don't exceed 45

Until March, play during the day or the afternoon. Or consider moving your computer out of the room temporarily into the playroom.

Personally, I don't think this should be too much of a problem. Because you are after all his big bro, and I'm sure you feel that his welfare is more important than a few less hours of BF2.

it not just bf2, it's san andreas, trackmania, red orchestra, music etc.... (and pron)

I guess I could survive w/o night time play until march..

By clicking I don't mean that kind of "crrrrrr" sound when you're loading a map or something. It's a very loud (well not VERY loud but it's distinct) clicking, like CLICK CLICK CLICK.

If your house isn't made out of lead or steel, try a wireless router and move your computer upstairs (remember to get a wireless card too =p)
