I mean, I got a C2D e6400 @ 2.4 and 1GB RAM along with a 7600gt, will it run fine, is it worth it, etc.

I didnt like it the first few times i played it... not to mention I royally sucked at it.

So should i get it?

Depends. If you hate air whores in BF2 then 2142 is for you. If you like that everything (tanks apcs walkers. planes) are all pretty easy to take down. Once you know how, so nothing is really overpowering.

The get 2142.

But if you prefer geting owned by j10s and friggin choopers. Or raped by unbeatable tanks on inf maps. The stick to BF2

Its really fun and harder to master than bf2, except the flying. No vehicles dominate like the helis/jets in bf2, so these people who whine about the gunships are just upset because they cant go 50-0 anymore. Points take more work and teamwork is way more important. The nice thing is you actually get points for being a good commander or squad leader, and you get points for badges and pins. Try it I think once you get better at it you will find it as addictive as I do.

I hated it when I first bought it, but 2 months later I re-installed it and have played a lot since then for the past 2 weeks or so.. I have 18k and in BF2 for playing over 250 hours I have 22k.

Great game, great unlocks etc.

I know some people can´t stand futuristic games if you´re one of them don´t bother. On the other hand if your into infantry combat 2142 is great at least imo it surpass bf2 by far. though i should say i stopped playing bf2 before they launched infantry only options.

And to mention: Spawnkillings, Insta deaths by artillery jetbombs etc etc. won´t happen as much.

BF2142 is more about infantry combat and most maps have been made that way. As a sniper you can quite a lot of places.

I say get it because it's worth it. And even if it's there still ain't any lasers and such silly things. Well the railgun turret have a laser like shot but you turn so slow with it when you press the second mouse buttom.

If BF2 there are only bullets vs grenades battles in infantry. BF2142 got a few more things and they make it more fun and harder, well it depend on which side you are on. The reciving end or the shooting end. XD

i loved bf2, still do, but i find 2142 much more of challenge, so im really into it atm. plus, any more rewards and promos gives you targets to go for, its a much more balenced game, the inf combat is far superior (titan attack vs defense etc), and i much prefer the class and unlock structure, makes you specialise much more, and also promotes teamwork. A much more team and infantry orientated game. Worth a buy

i have very unlock in the game, and the only weapon unlock i use is the engineer anti tank gun (pilum) , the recons carbine(but when im sniping i use the stock sniper rifle over the unlock) and the support shotgun depending on if im playing close quarters.
