i do agree. it would prevent everyone rushing around like crazy dogs and would add some more realistic touch in terms of style and teamplay.
when i played bf2 for the first time i hated it, just because there always seemed to be that huge mob of people rushing brainless from one flag to the other, never caring about defensive measures, strategy and getting killed.
i decided to always play like i get negative score for dying, this way i don't get that many kills in a round (also because i'm pretty average) but i don't care about stats and awards, to me it's most fun to survive as long as possible. i never save in singleplayer games also, call it a challenge.
my suggestion would be +3 for kill and -1 for death.
