Debated whether this should be in tech or not, but w/e.

Pretty simple post, I have a calculator that I payed a lot of money for (think its a ti-83 or 84), and noticed that the screen was cracked, along with what looks like a blue ink outlining the crack(s).  I can view some things, but only on certain parts of the screen.  So, if I try to look at a list of something, I cant see it all.  I have searched online and dont think TI has any programs where you can turn it in or get it fixed.

Anybody ever have my situation and if so, would you recommend going anywhere such as any local stores (maybe something like bestbuy or an office store..)?

Nobody probably cares, but its really the only calculator I have (besides the one in Windows ) and would possibly like to know if you have any advice..

The blue ink looking stuff is the liquid crystal goop, sounds like it got cracked. Get in touch with TI and see if there's a repair service:

Might just have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Step 1. Buy a cheap LCD screen.
Step 2. Get a circuit diagram.
Step 3. Get the soldering iron out and hope for the best.

Or you could just give up and get a new one.

Hell yeah they are.  TI-84s have clocks in them.  TI-83s don't.

Just buy 8 crap calculators for $80. They will last for ever and will still meet your basic calculating needs.
