OR at least some of classes of the SEAL like specops or something.
why not just a .50 deagle?
just FYI, real Spec Ops people (SEALs, Delta Force) use all kinds of weapons not just the current Govenrment Issue.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
m1911a1 is out of service, and post in the right place
Because it's a not a very good gun, I would take a 1911 over a Desert Eagle any day. I would like to see the HK mk23.Charmin wrote:

yeah.. the deagle is a horribly impratical gun... its just pimped by games and media and the like... its not that good... despite being my fav weapon in CS Source
M1911 is still in active service. Specialized units only, everybody else gets the M9. SEALS and Recon teams carry the M1911
colt .45 ftw

jist aslong as they put in a more powerfull handgun cuz these things we have now do squat. Especially those with a silencer on it, so useless, and pack no punch what so ever. There is a smaller caliber confirguration of the deagle, i think its .45 with a 12 mag, works for me
The Desert Eagle also comes in .357 Magnum. Either way, I'd take a 1911. The DE is just too big and bulky to be a useful gun. I'd love to see a pistol unlock for all the classes though.
Socom is the HK mk23, a very well balanced pistol. I think this should be an unlock for spec ops.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

Hmm, maybe a silenced sniper rifle. I mean, it's stupid giving the sniper a silenced pistol and a very noisy rifle. I thought the sniper is meant to be stealthy?
I don't agree with a silenced rifle. That would make snipers invincible; think about it, 90% of the time you tell where a shot came from by listening, right? Well what if that shot sound couldn't be followed back to a rocky, bushy hill with some jerk sniper with an AW Covert Sniper Rifle?
To tell you the truth, a sniper rifle should be loud just for balance. The sniper class is good enough against infantry; why make it better? You would throw off the balance of gameplay.

Silenced sniper rifles are impractical as you can really only sound suppress subsonic ammunition. A rifle round goes faster than the speed of sound so you will get a sonic boom anyways. If you slow down the velocity of the bullet then it will become less accurate at longer ranges.idiotofwar wrote:

In terms of gameplay, the balance would be skewed and less fun for the rest of the gamers. I have tons of fun trying to locate a sniper and then killing him with a few pistol shots or knifing him in the back.
The pistols are great. The only flaw with them is that they're probably too accurate at long distances. I don't even mind that because as a sniper I end up using them quite a bit and am good with them. Also for clarification there is no difference in power or accuracy between the silenced and unsilenced pistols in this game, atleast according to this site. This makes me think that all EA would have to do is add a different graphic and much louder sound effect to the pistol for you to be pleased and impressed.Charmin wrote:

Side note: this is probably true of most guns. When I unlocked my first weapon, the m95, I was excited because I imagined it would be 1 shot 1 kill because the m24 was super accurate and brought health down to almost nothing - surely the only improvement to be made was to increase the power. Upon using the weapon it seemed that it was not more powerful and less accurate. Not understanding why EA would add a rifle that is essentially a downgrade I sought out weapon information and found this site. The m95 can shoot pilots out of planes and can shoot through the plate of armor that protects the back of top gunners in tanks or humvees. buttttt... this only comes in handy with aircraft when they're hovering to take a flag and EVEN then you have to get a HS - which is harder to do with the less accurate weapon. Sometimes it can be fun to sit outside of an enemy aerial spawn and hit chopper pilots in the head as they climb in their vehicle.. but the m95 is essentially a downgrade to the m24 and it's only real function is to provide a single shot alternative to the chinese/mec sniper class. My point? You will see the m95 being the primary weapon of a majority of USMC snipers in any given server for the simple fact that it has a cooler graphic and is louder.
