Ok, so I thought I'd got past my overclocking problem.

For those who don't know, I can't get my C2d past 2.86ghz. I though it was the ram not functioning but I discovered a wonderful thing. I could manually set the ram speed but it had to be proportional to the FSB. Cool. So, being 667MHz RAM, I managed to crank it up to 713MHz, which is prop. to a 358MHz FSB I presume. Being mystified as I thought RAM wasn't OC'able, I tried to go past 358MHz again. Still no luck

"Reboot and select proper boot device"

So it's defo a HDD prob. I just need to know how to rectify it. If i go over the mark and go into BIOS, the HDD isn't recognised even though it a SATAII.

So now I'm fuddled. Oh yeah, how far can RAM go above it's stock speed?

Try raising the RAM voltage a notch or two and see if that gets you working.
