Too bad when he comes here to states people wont care at all and he will realize that soccer is not mentioned on any of the news at all (sports news), he might get some attention at first but after that nothing.

Soccer is the most popular sport everywhere else on the planet. In the United States, though, it's been a fringe interest or something for kids to do before they get hooked on basketball, football and baseball.

yeah publicity but people dont watch soccer here in U.S. its not broadcasted like the other sports, its just sideway sport it does not get that much attention he may get some publicity since he is famous but dont think he is going to get that much out of it being in U.S. he may have his run but overall popularity wise he wont sway the whole nation to watch soccer.

This is great news for me, why? I'll tell you.

A while ago my Dad met David Backhams publicist and told him about my footballing history and how I've always wanted to play in the states. Anyway, this guy tells my dad that DB is going to be setting up an academy in LA and that if it went through then I'd be able to go there and play and hopefully earn myself a scholarship or a place in a MLS team.

Now that he's moved to the LA Galaxy, this has increased the chance of me going there now.

MLS recently dropped that. I think Beckham signed for something like $250 million in a 5 year deal. So yeah, the money did have something to do with it.

uh soccer is broadcast on cable here in the states frequently. just because you don't watch it doesn't mean it's not there.
