hey guys i just dl'd an album i wanted but cd1 2 and 3 are all just one song, does anyone know a good programme (and easy) to cut up the long track and make it into smaller tracks

Depends what format the files are in.

edit:  sorry forget the advice i gave.  The program I mentioned can only create partial tracks from cd's not existing files didn't realize that.

Sound forge is a good program for splitting files but i think you have to pay for it.

but that would still give me one long track i.e. if cd1 has 21 tracks and lasts for 1hour 45mins and i try to burn it i will still have 1 long track which should be 21 tracks

crimson_grunt is right. cdex is a very good program. i rip all my cd's with that and it does a very good job.

Yeah unfortunately I don't think it can split existing music files, i thought it could but cant find an option to do so.

Yep audacity. Just load the big file and look for where the tracks end, and cut the file there. Then you need to export every part to mp3. Its pretty easy realy....

thats the best .......just load up the Big track........locate were the tracks end....  highlight all track and save as!

One more thing. Audacity doesnt come with an mp3 encoder so you need to dowload this file:

First time you try to make an mp3 Audacity will ask you to locate this file. Once you do it your all set.
