why dont u crawl underneath the bugger, plant the mine and then leg it! more effective and sneaky as just planting the mine and waiting frm him to see it..
but that sounds kl with the 'nade thing, i need to try that, but it b gd to find a way to kill a tank with out mines or C4(saving running to a TOW and then having a 120mm shell throwin at u then being nipped by the bastard coaxil MG!) as u can see i hate guys that just hide in a tin-can or fly high above a wait till i try to capture then u fuck me with a .50 cal or drop a shit load of bombs on one person!

Generall speaking the tctice of just putting the tank on the tank and letting it blow itself up is better. but if you an engineer on karkland and not around tanks you can use this tact very effectly against infantry.

I'll give ya an example. Take 16 vs karkland. The alley between sqaure and hotel always has a large volume of infantry. So when there is a big stand off between mec/us there you can drop a mine or two into the alley which would not normally be set off by infantry drop a grenade and it will clear the whole alley. Same tactic again can be used for clearing a flag radius if your smart. unlike the c4 pack you can't hid the mines though so a smart person will detonate them when no one is in radius,.

Because I can see this tactic being used to keep a tank from capping a point.  Plenty of times I have had a mine sitting on top of a tank and the dude doesn't move an inch while raising the flag.

I have a much better way. Slap down a mine behind, or near the tank then, throw a grenade down near the mine (it doesnt matter if it's not touching it) and run. Since a single landmine can take out a tank the explosion from the grenade detonates the mine and takes out the tank. It's not a tactic that can be used on a moving tank that spots you but it's for those times when you get behind a tank camper as an engineer.

I hope this helps some people as i've been experimenting with stuff like this.

PS. It works on any vehicle. Even a helicopter hovering low at a heliport. Apart from jet's.
The explosion is quite large with multiple mines. On LANs i like to set up traps to take out large amounts of enemies with them. Yet to try it online though.

They'd be quite deadly in the alleys of karkand.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but you can use this same tactic for taking out infantry. I've used it on tanks a couple times, but it's really fun to put land mines near a flag in a circle or in a line, where you can then detonate them by chain reaction with a grenade. AT mines are actually more explosive than C4. If you space them right you can get them to explode like dominoes.

What this means is that you can throw a grenade at the end of the domino chain of mines, out of sight of the flag, and the chain reaction of explosions will reach the flag when you toss a grenade at the start. I've actually only done this twice, but it was rather amusing and actually effective because infantry usually doesn't pay attention to land mines if a vehicle isn't near them.

i do the mine thing all the time minus the nade.. i run around it 1 at mine front, 1 left, 1 right, 1 behind and i run off and wait in the corner and giggle.. works almost everytime, but the tank driver must be braindead to not see you... fortunatly many people are

Or, it can work against you as well. I was in a tank once(Or was it an APC, doesn't matter), and this engineer saw me. He placed mines all around me, hoping I would move. I jumped out, and he took the tank, then realized he was trapped. I saw someone use grenades to open up a tank path, and happened to have one left. So remember engineers, it is a double edged sword. :p

I was playing Stalemate as an engineer yesterday and was driving with my jeep to the northern most cp.
Unfortunately an enemy APC was waiting for some easy targets. So I quickly jumped out the jeep, killed the approaching enemy soldier with my jackhammer mid-range and saw that APC driving to the flag post. I remembered your thread so I sneaked around it, placed a mine between his wheels, dropped a 'nade, run around the corner and the flag was mine.
Thanks mate, without your thread I would have tried to drop a mine at his rear and front wheels and would have died, because I was heavily wounded.
