so teachers and students dont have to drive to school half asleep, or hurring to school and getting accidents

So parents don't have to leave work early to pick up their kids.

BTW This forum is the last place I'd come for help with an English writing assessment. Half of the people here don't even know the difference between 'then' and 'than'.

Well, in places like the central valley in California we get pretty thick fog for four months of the year and it's always worse in the morning. Starting school two hours later would mean fewer bus/parent related car accidents as the fog would have more time to burn off. Additionally there would be fewer 'fog days' where school starts later than usual anyway, which means more time in school (though not something most kids would be happy about!)

I have to agree with cospengle here... The average IQ of this forum is around -15 or so.  While only a small percentage of the crew here actually knows how to read and type like an intelligent human, it's very rare to see it.

Imagine opening your car door and not being able to see the ground... of course this is a really extreme case, but I've seen it.

Research actually shows that adolescent students aren't fully "awake" until around 9am or so. Google it and you shall find. Actual research data will give you big brownie points on your assignment.

It might alleviate some traffic problems as well.  School buses are no fun to contend with in the morning commute.

Do what he says, place links or direct quotes in your paper to this study and you will get a pretty good grade (as long as the paper is well written).
