Ever since i got McAfee total protection my inter net has slowed down at least 75% it took 5 min to load the page just to post this!! does any know of a way to optimise my inter net again so it speeds back up??? KARAM FOR PEOPLE WHO HELP ME OUT AND OR DONT FLAME 4 for help 1 to 2 for not flaming
Nope, it's just like Norton too, as soon as you install it your computer slows down by 50%, but you get some virus protection. Sorry, the only way I know to "optimize" your computer is uninstall the software.GR34 wrote:

well.... have you tried disabling various features? I'm guess McAfee has a horrible firewall utility, which is causing the extreme bandwidth suckage.
Uninstall that crap and install NOD32 instead.

Uhm, one suggestion would be to get the fuck rid of McAfee because it's absolutely horrible. Use a badass AV that uses hardly any resources like NOD32 or Kaspersky. Or you could use a PC optimizer to clean everything up and improve the overall speed of your computer and modem. A registry cleaner also helps with the overall speed of everything. I have two great programs for this. Let me know if you want them.\
It also helps to disable any program that functions online if you're not using it. It kills me to see people trying to game it up with 20 other applications running with 10 of them being online shits, and they bitch about lagging.

No my games run fine its just when iam browsing the net it is oober slow! and i just bought it so i will weaight till t expires till i get a new security center thing. my las mcafee use a toal of 8 000k buit my new one uses 11 000k its really gay
Disable the firewall feature of the AV. That should help quite a bit.
mcafee does slow slow down your computer, but you might want to lower the settings on any antivirus so it doesn't scan usless crap where viruses won't be, and lower the firewall settings.
