There's gonna be a 8800GTS 320MB version, same shit as the regular GTS, just minus the ram, 100 dollars usd cheaper as well.

Whatfor?

I would appreciate something with about 512MB and GDDR4, as well as about 56 pixel pipes and a 256+bit interface which would be sufficient, for decent gaming, I guess. And I hope that meainstream models will be like my suggestion. If not, they gotta design such a card just for me
(I'd love to see something like my 6600GT, probably a 8600GT and if I scaled down the specs from the 8800GTX as from the 6800 Ultra as top models, it should look something like my suggestion ^^)

Pixel pipes are no longer really relevant due to different architecture. The unified pipeline/shader architecture has changed all that.

Mixed up expressions.
All I meant was I would even be pleased with 56 whatsoever-pipes

Well, if nvidia want to keep there crown from ATI, they will release a superior card to the 8800GTX, therefor pushing the price of both GTS and GTX down significantly, you can pick up a GTS for £250-£300 now, wouldnt be supirsed to see that drop to £199 by easter.  I am holding off till easter myself for this specific reason, not paying all that when dx10 isnt a requirement at this moment in time.  Hell I hope they have a 8950GX2 by then, to bad no close by powerstations

Do you mean a 512-bit interface. A 512Mbit interface isn't gonna happen, it'd just be silly. You'd need half a billion hardware interface pipes, the card would be the size of a house.

8600 Ultra or 8600GT depending on my budget will be my choice then...
(Although I must admit that core speeds of the 8600GT suck and that... Wait! I just figured that there's a neat $ right next to the price, not... Hell, no matter what, I'll go for the Ultra then )

PS: Note that they really granted me my wishes with the 8600 Ultra? Read some posts above... The only thing they didn't implent was GDDR4...
