BF2S Forums Request new map which can only use knifes and pistols

My guess is you can't make a map with weapon restrictions, its not in the game code. But you could make a mod that did so probably quite easily.

Well the key this never would be a ranked map or mod. It would be a fun mod/map to play though, especially if you want to learn how to get knife/pistol skills.

Stat pad heaven anyone? xD

Actually, some of my friends and I used to play that in BF and in COD long before there were any "medals" for them.  Sometimes we would call each other out for knife or pistol duels.  It can be a fun diversion from the typical gasme - sometimes stuff like that can keep thing interesting.  I remember an old MP map for the original HL that was just a small square room and the only thing was allowed was the crowbar - talk about a crazy game - 16 ppl in a small room bashing the crap out of each other.

I used to love playing CS with knifes only... my favorite map was ka_legoland  I freaking owned at that map.

Then I found a server that played that and had WC3 mod for CS.

Knife only and Pistol only rounds are hell of a good time.

True, very true but you do get the skill to figure out when to knife and when not to knife. Hit registry in games can be a funny thing. The sneaking up and getting close to a guy with a gun is all trivial. You don't run head on into a guy with a g36c, you ambush, come from behind or the sides, charging a guy with a knife is just plain stupid. Well maybe with a bayonet, but we don't got those.
