They are called " Stun Grenades "

that Flash bang shit started when the ATF burned to death 182 people without the benefit of a trial.

" Flash Bang " sounded more cute n cuddly in the White wash hearings that took place later.

golly jeepers !  We wouldn't throw a Grenade ! it was a  " flash bang "    Weeee. !

actually flash-bang comes from what a stun grenade does, basically it came from the s.w.a.t description of a stun grenade "a non-lethal, non-fragmentation flash and bang grenade". which is what a stun grenade does.just a little slang, its like a redneck calling a toilet "the shitter"

lol Honestly i just didnt know what to say to this post and i didnt wanna leave u hanging.....

I'm not gonna look this all up because I am at work and, to be honest, only mildly interested in something that I was watching when it happened but now is long-old news.

I've heard the term 'Flash-Bang' well before the cult-gun-nut Koresh shot at and killed various law enforcement people serving warrants on illegal guns (by reports and later seen true from shots fired in the standoff, he had the beginnings of an arsenal, for Armageddon one would guess ;P. I believe that was the reason, could be wrong) . I believe the first to be shot (not sure if he was killed) was a Texas Ranger (ya, these guys exist) You can read all about what followed, even see footage of the officers he shot down after and before it became a long standoff.

That the standoff even existed was ridiculous to me after a few days, but the admin wanted to pretend that if push came to shove he was gonna back down instead of trying to go out killing as many of them and his own people (remember, he was their messiah so they would be going to heaven anyway) as possible.

There are many suspicions at the time about the pattern of the incendiary explosion. Whatever the cause and however the who ATF thing was implemented, the reality is that those children did not have to be there. Those people did not have to be there. Except as hostages (whether voluntary or not, he was using them as human shields much like the so-called "Islamic" Terrorist cowards do by situating themselves in large apartment complexes and in or near hospitals and nurseries (great smart-bomb cover)

I had no respect for insane 'religious' extremists here or over there. I have even less respect for an ambushing coward without the courage to face either the consequences of his breaking state laws or to at least use his own guns himself and keep the women and children out of it.

But then again I don't feel too keen about this either:
Born as Vernon Wayne Howell in 1959, Koresh (born Vernon Wayne Howell, but since he saw himself as the reincarnation of both King David and King Cyrus of Persia, and the Messiah - guess he needed a new name.
About the children...

Claiming that he was entitled to 140 wives, he "married" several of the females in the compound, including some that were as young as 12 and 13."

No, I don't feel better.

Did I mention... those original warrants included allegations of child-abuse? No wonder...

BTW... I live in NYC, at the time I worked in sight of and about 10 blocks from the WTC. I wasn't at work that day, but I've seen what the type of ppl who stock 307 (prob 95+% illegal) firearms (50 of which were modded to fully auto), .50cal Barret sniper rifles, various forms of explosives, the other rifles included good ol' AK's and finally all manner of other stockpiled weapons.) and believe themselves inspired by (the kind of God who would not let his followers defend Him when the Romans came to arrest Him.) or in actuality god.

Ya... they like explosive endings. Pretty perverted and pathetic excuses for men... wouldn't you say?

The BATF responds to child abuse? Who would they send if he stole a car?

I don't defend him as I would never join a cult, I don't even belong to a church.

But the whole thing sucked If you look into it with more than a I am sure he was a " Gun nut/Child molester "
point of veiw, just to much weird stuff went on.

Way too much.

The thing that frosted me as a Gun collector ( I dont even have Ammo except for my 12 ga. )

Was the Whole ( Compound ) thing.

I owned a Breeding farm and the nearest building was a school about 3/4 of a mile away.
My place was Attractive looking from thr Road aproach but from the South it looked like a shitload of big Featureless buildings. A Compuond if you will.

I had no children, was new to the Area.

I could see the Headlines  " a school next door " ," we got there just in time "

Holding up my rifles for the News Camaras would have been priceless.

That they were all legal, that I would have sued them ( if I lived ) and won like D. Koresh or what ever he called himself. Would not have matter'd.

He deservd a Day in court.

It was never shown that he/they fired first*, The Metal front Doors That would have proved it Disappeard as did the ATF trailers that would have had bullets scars if D. koresh had fired.

If the ATF had succumed to Friendly fire we will never know becuase they were burried way to qwick in the opinion of most law enforcement.

*I am not sure I could recognize a Stun Grenade/ FlashBang Thunder stick etc. if it rolled into my bedroom at 5am, but i would try and get a shot off as would you or any other man with a family.

Does it strike anyone as odd that alot of these FBI stand offs End in Fire?

The list is to long.

But didnt the Bulldozer at the Crime sceene strike you as odd?. Surely you saw this on the News

What was it the Famaous Fictional detective used to say?

Was it " Touch Nothing ! "  or  " qwick, a bulldozer ! "

All so I have the Feeling you may be a Law Enfrocement officer and I have touched a nerve or offended.

For this I apologize.

It was a tragedy. But I think the guys who went down under fire had little to do with FBI ATF policy at the time, Which is the only thing that I qeustioned.

I prefer the term "dickstick". Mainly because the majority of the time I'm getting hit with 'em by a teammate.

Wasn't 182 people. It was 74.

ATF needs to be disbanded. The whole waco thing was an attempt to show that they where still needed. They are just good at F'n up. In the 70's they had a 18 month standoff with an aryon supporter David Weaver. Though I'm sure none of us support the aryon nation. I assume we can all say it is pretty F'n up that ATF sniped his wife and 14 year old son, on "accident" of course...NOT. All this over a illegal sell of a sawed-off shotgun to an undercover ATF agent. That was his only charge. After his trial he was awarded 3.1 million bucks.
