So, I'm looking to buy a new hard drive for my computer, and the current one I want is this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6822144417

However, my current hard drive says SATA 1.5 GB/s, and the one I want to get says SATA 3.0 GB/s. I was told to check if the new hard drive I want can be placed on my computer by checking my motherboard, but I can't find it. Can someone help me with this?

Thanks.

In order for the people to help you out you should also post the MoBo model for more accurate feedback.

SATA 3.0 is compatable with 1.5, it will be limited to the speed your motherboard can handle.

Read this part..
Serial ATA
Serial ATA is the next generation ATA specification that provides superior performance. With up to 150MB/s data transfer rate, Serial ATA is faster than current Parallel ATA, while providing 100% software compatibility.
