Does anybody know of any realistic COMBAT flight sims that are for helicopters and not planes. If you do post up please.
Wow you really want to be a pilot don't you?thareaper254 wrote:

I'd laugh if you got DQ'd from flight school on a technicality, like a heart murmur or an enlarged prostate.

Your not Good Enough.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is a Realistic one.
In FS2000, you can fly a Bell helicopter. I know it's not combat, but you can have fun flying between buildings.

I'm not sure there are any truly realistic combat flight sims available to the public...

I have MS Flight Sim X, you can fly Bell Jetrangers and some other crappy brand, there are Add ons for Combat Jets, but not many. FSX is the closest you will get to RL.
~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
Lock On Modern Air Combat: Black Shark allows you to use a Ka-50 Hokum attack helo, you need L.O.M.A.C regular first
I remember years ago spending hours on end playing Gunship 2000. It was a VERY primitive game on todays standards but the flight controls were a great deal harder to master than BF2.
At the time it was the ducks nutz as far as realistic heli simulators on a 386 based machine went.
It would be interesting to see if there is a Janes heli simulator out there ...

There was some Australian Air Force helicopter simulator, but I'm not sure whether it's combat or even if it still exists.
If you use cheats you can get an apache in Sim Copter. Best game ever.
Lol. The only game where you just hold down w and as soon as you land you heal back to full health. Also, ever tried "super dog"?Sgt_Sieg wrote:

Actually I am gonna be a pilot, as soon as a graduate high school I'm going to basic training then going to Warrant Officer School. Bitch.Jestar12345 wrote:

Maybe you will.
In Fact, You Wont.
I suggest the Commanche series. Commanche 3 was pretty much the best, more sim-like than arcade, but focusing more on scheaking around at low level and annihlating things rather than zoom and gun.
dont listen to people like that.......people that belittle your ambitions often have none of their own.thareaper254 wrote:

dont you have to be at least a sergeant before they will even consider you for warrant officer?thareaper254 wrote:

my dad was a pilot and said you are enlisted at first for about 8 weeks and go through basic training and stuff like that.. then you gotta take a test and get a 90 on it and take another one and get 110. I dunno exactly, I'm gonna have my dad help me out with that stuff.Leprechaun56 wrote:

You cant tell yourself your getting in automatically. Theres this thing called "The Real Thing", when you figure out that Charlie is in the brush shooting at your slick while you drop 2nd platoon off at LZ Diem.
Oh sorry, wrong war.
You should worry about the real thing, other than a video game version of it.

Yeah I think you need a certain time in to get a WO slot. I know in the USMC, I think you need to hit E-6 and then send in a WO package, in which even then, you might not get selected. You need to be really proficient in your specialty. I haven't met anyone who went straight from basic to WO. But it seem like you are talking about the Army since you mentioned around 8 weeks of basic training, in that case, I don't know how they do their WO packages. But whatever and however it maybe, good luck to you!
I wanted to be a pilot.
In australia, you need a rediculously high high school score, 5 years training and on top of that, only 3 out of 100 people who ever apply and get that far even get chosen. good luck, but you gotta understand theres probably hundreds of people applying for the same job as you, and gotta beat every last one of them, its gonna take a LOT of work.

Easiest way to become a pilot is to do something else first, buy a small plane, and start a charter flight company.
Choplifter 3 was the last good Helo game I played, and that was on the SNES, lol...
