I really hope this was done in a more dignified manner than Saddam.

i think maybe US should run executions privately from now on, we can't trust the iraqis to do it without screwing up...article wrote:

Are you that dense? You quoted the article, and in the part that you quoted it said that Iraqi authorities excuted Saddam. Then you say that the US ran the execution. How mixed up are you? Do you believe everything that you are told? Do you do any research on your own?Blehm98 wrote:

it isn't nearly as big as the saddam execution.i think maybe US should run executions privately from now on, we can't trust the iraqis to do it without screwing up...article wrote:

No kidding. We've definitely engaged in our share of fucked up stuff, but I think we would've handled the execution with dignity. He was an old man on the gallows, for fuck's sake. What kind of person is going to hurl insults?Blehm98 wrote:

Can you read? He said he thinks the US should run them from now on. That means the US wasn't running them in the past...dubbs wrote:

edit: someone else beat me to it, ah well...
Lets see you stated that that you think that the US should run executions privately from now on. Run is present tense, you see this by the word now. Not only this, but you failed to mention any third party so how could one know what you were trying to say. If you were to just read your horrible sentence, they would not have known what you were trying to say. Maybe you should learn how to write better sentences to get your point across. Something like, Instead of the Iraqis preforming the executions, I think the US should preform all of the executions from here on out in private. See that makes a lot more sense then what you wrote.Blehm98 wrote:

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Saddam Hussein's half brother and the former head of Iraq's Revolutionary Court were both hanged before dawn Monday, officials said, two weeks and two days after the former Iraqi dictator was executed in a chaotic scene that has drawn worldwide criticism.
Barzan Ibrahim, Saddam's half brother and former intelligence chief, and Awad Hamed al-Bandar head of Iraq's Revolutionary Court, had been found guilty along with Saddam in the killing of 148 Shiite Muslims after a 1982 assassination attempt on the former leader in the town of Dujail north of Baghdad.
Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh confirmed the executions, saying those attending the hangings included a prosecutor, a judge and a physician.
He also said Ibrahim's head was severed from his body during his hanging.
"In a rare incident, the head of the accused Barzan Ibrahim al-Hassan was separated from his body during the execution," al-Dabbagh told reporters.
There won't be.ghettoperson wrote:

I don't. I hate that Saddam's execution wasn't more degrading to him and his followers.ATG wrote:

Interesting point there...UON wrote:
The decapitation was probably deliberate. After all, there are well established guidelines on rope length to stop that exact thing happening. I wouldn't be suprised if it turned out that the other guy was on a deliberately short rope and slowly choked.
At least they can say they've scored a hat-trick of all the possible ways to botch a hanging (taunting the condemned, decapitation and choking).... actually, I suppose the ultimate botch is failing to kill somebody, but at least you can always do it again if that happens, so it doesn't really count.
These really put the cherry on top of the US democracy in Iraq. Great going, really great way to show the middle east that you are not really bad guys, you are here to promote peace and justice. Might as well have built an arena and thrown them to lions.ATG wrote:
