Ok . A week later i have bought an X1950 AGP 512 Dual DVI

brought it home plugged it in, updated drivers, AGP drivers, rebooted-to a black screen on entering windows.
Went out and bought 700w power supply. rebooted - black screen on entering windows- It was like the screen was powering down-no signal. AHHHHHHHH

Luckily found a tip on an obscure forum to leave monitor switched off as windows boots and only switch it on after windows boots- Yeha- it worked. Something to do with EDID signals sent to screen on windows load??

Now have BF2 all set to high with 2xAA etc

So after a false start- i just wanted to thank you for all of your advice.

This is a great card although a bit finicky.
