Would a 7600 GS do?
want to know a secret? any SM 2.0+ video card with the same settings at that resolution will look exactly the same.

i have agp and mine looks nothing like that.
Ive got a stinging feeling its Pci, but im not entirely sure.
What kind of fps do you get? Cause I turn my lighting and dynamic to low/off and geometry on high, the rest on medium, at 1280x960, and I still get about 30 fps in some tough areas, usually around 50+ if there is not much happening. I'm already saving up for the 8600 ultra that I heard was coming out in march or something. You should do the same, because it is going to cost about the same as a 7600gt, but be way better because of the new architecture, or something.
Any pics with aa on with x2 or 4x? and its probaly pci-e i doubt it would be a agp x8. @jello i can get a 7600gt for $200 aus im not to sure what that is in us dollars but the 8600 ultra would be alot more i would think.
Don't stress about PCI-e or AGP with a 7600.
Agreed, it will cost about 10% more than the 7600GT was when it was first released, so you are looking at a good 30-50% price increase going from a 7600GT to the 8600 series at todays prices.B00MH3ADSH0T wrote:

No its not that the two guys that posted before me where thinking is the card displaying that bf2142 pic was agp or pcie.Don't stress about PCI-e or AGP with a 7600.

I wouldn't say the 8600 ultra is going to be 50% more, probably like 20% or so.Pete wrote:
Cost as much as a 7600GT 'was' when new. So a bit of a price increase over what you can pick up a 7600GT for now, something like 50% more expensive than the 7600GT's out at the moment.Jello.01 wrote:

Ya, it was me on petes account (friend of mine) then realised I singed it as me and it was his d'oh. Considering a 7600GT when released (in the uk) was £150, or close to $275 I wouldnt be suprised to see the price up as much as 50%, remember the 8800GTX was lot more expensive than the 7800GTX was on release.Jello.01 wrote:

my gt allows everything on high and full aa with a fps on 60-70
Full aa as in 8x? because i dont think you can do 16x with itpenguin.killer wrote:

I get 65FPS average no AA, (see my rig specs in signature) I use it since I am not for paying £400 on a card (8800) that will be outclassed in two months and even then its to dam expensive . 7600GT manages a great FPS on my computer 1280x768 on all high bar shawdows, but I took them off to make game play easier, not because the card cant handle it. Get a display like the Screenshot posted earlier.B00MH3ADSH0T wrote:

im going to be using e6300 pc-6400 g.skill at 800mhz 2gb and ethier gigabyte p965-ds3 mobo or asus p5b. my monitors native res is 1280x1024 so im going to use that.

OK, this is when I didnt have my AA turned on but now I play with full AA (settings on x16 but i think it may only go up to 8 on bf2) and it runs like a breeze - FPS of about 70..., but then again my other specs help out with it...It is a 7600GT though, not overclocked...

16XAf 4XAA

8xAF 4xAA

8xAF 4xAA

Ive got the Xpert Vision non sonic 7600GT and have OC'd it myself I easily run BF2 all high with AA and AF maxed out with a 3800+ and 1GB of 667 DDR2. Its a great and money efficient card.
