IQ is next to meaningless. EQ is where its at.
Some of those net tests aren't too bad. To get into the gifted program I tested at 138. I got the exact same score with two of the internet tests.
However, that IQ quickly goes down if you don't develop it, or if you smoke certain substances (cough cough). I think mine was about 90 for some of the months of my life.
Being able to talk and develop relationships is a far better skill, however. My father is a genius, but hit a ceiling in his professional career because in every social situation he was always trying to prove he was smarter than everyone. No one likes know it alls...
So, if you got an IQ of 90 but can make friends, you are better off with a 138. For all its worth, my 138 so far has gotten me nothing but unhappiness. My brain is constantly somewhere else and it has gotten me into trouble before. I've heard the same thing from people with 160s and 170s.
Check it out in the books, Newton may have discovered the laws but no one liked him. Which would you rather do, be liked or discover something someone else will do anyway?

Same here, I score no less than 125-130 on internet IQ tests, the only parts I partly miss all the time are the math ones, I'm not good at advanced maths (trigonometry, etc), I do love the science and logics part, they're so logical .ThomasMorgan wrote:

i got 132, but online iq tests are crap and serve no purpose other than amusement, so i dont put any stock in the results...

I took a real IQ test with a shrink and everything, (yes, I'm just that nuts.) I got 129, 90-110 being average and everything, (normal distribution.) I'm in the top 5% of people, (in this country at least.)
Don't trust Internet IQ tests, they greatly differ and give you bullshit results.
129 means I'm above average not super-genius. Still, true intelligence is measured in ways wher IQ tests do't do anything. IQ dosn't measure any skills you might have, (musical etc.) or anything else that'll help you in the real world.

Yes well, people who are talking about internet IQ tests should be aware that most of them are BS..
And even if you have taken a real test, it basicly says how much potential you've got (mostly in some specific area, like mine was in maths..) but of course if you don't develop it, it won't make you smart..
For example; my math teachers always said that I had to take a study-direction with as many maths as possible, since I was.. well really good at maths.. But I went to Economics Modern Languages instead of Economics Mathematics 'cause I was tired of people always saying "you have to do maths!" and basicly just tired of maths in general.. But now, (I'm in my first year university) maths is one of my most important classes, and I had my examn 3 days ago, and it wasn't all that good, since I 'lost' those 4years and fell behind on maths..
(Well that and the fact that I got through college without ever really having to study, so right now, I'm fukked since I have to study a lot now, but I never had to before, and now I don't know how to study + I can't keep focused..)
So basicly; I'm "smart", but there have always been people who have better grades than me, while they 're less "smart".. So now the question is; who's really smart? They, since they have the better grades, or me, since I have a higher IQ..

John Nash for example was a genious, but he did however devellop schizofrenia and went completely mad.
(In the end however he did conquer the disease and got the Nobel Prize for his work.. )
