the dehumanization process limits those emotions in soldiers........i dont know if it was an SVD.....you cant really tell by the sound..besides they were behind bulletproof glass which would have muffled the sound even further....i would love to know what stage that glass is though, cause if it was a dragunov that glass stopped a .308, which is a big motherfucker.............

a .308 isn't really that big, take into account the 7mm mag, 300 win mag, .338 win, or my favorite .50 BMG!!!

the point i was attempting to make is that it was stopped by bulletproof glass.....it is a plenty big round.......if not the 7.62mm would not be used for nearly EVERY GPMG. trust me ive fired plenty of .308s and i know that it is a huge round. thats why you see it used for heavy weapons more often than you see it used for assault rifles.
i have a hard time believing that insurgents in iraq could get any of the bullets you listed, much less a gun that fires them.....besides a fifty browning........

you are infantry, you should know these things.

i have no doubt that the insurgents can and do have high powered and expensive weapons in Iraq... consider this... an RPG launcher costs $4000-$7000 and the rockets are $500-$1000 each... the US solders are attacked by RPGs all the time... the insurgents do not lack weapons...
