If I clear cmos it boots fine and I can get into windows and do stuff with both just fine. Mouse and keyboard wouldn't affect reboot failure like this. Also they're both usb anyway...

k i guess u got bad mobo and I recommed u to RMA it or buy a different mobo like that asus. That asus should be ok cuz u don't have antec psu like I have (Antec PSU + Asus A8Nxx-SLI=ZOMG). Other choice is DFI but it has active cooling
Well, I have this M/B about 2 years now (a little less) so, I don't think that's gonna work (rma). Looks like it's the asus...

What people were saying about the removing/replacing the battery may be right. However, check your MB manual, and look for a jumper that pretty much resets all the settings.

I fucked mine up a few months back, removing the battery alone doesn't just reset it, (it's an ASUS MB), there was some jumper that you had to flip over and back again to get it to fully reset.

That jumper is how you clear cmos, and if you read all the posts you'll see that clearing the cmos is the only thing that gets the computer to boot, however, it does not permanently fix the problem as the error reoccurs next time the computer is shut down. (Also, the battery did not work).
