Nintendogamer - I would recommend trying to get a job in Homebase if there is one near you. Either that or B & Q. I worked in Homebase for 6 and a half years after I turned 16 and it was a really good time.

Pay: about £3.30 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, I think.
Hours: To start with you can probably get two nights a week (5.30 - 9.30 or 6 - 10) and a Saturday shift (9-6). After you have been there for a few months you can start asking for different shifts.

Homebase take on a lot of part time staff aging from 16 +, although because you are 16 you will not be able to operate some things, i.e. Board cutting machine. But there are loads of things that you can do.

When I was there we did not really have a department so we would work in all the departments on different days. So one day you will be dealing with all the paint, then the next time you could be working in the home wear section. You learn a lot of practical stuff and each day can be different from the days before. You get to meet loads of new people and it will turn you into a man! (because you will be required to lift a lot of heavy stuff.). At times it could be hard having to lift a lot of stuff, but I have never regretted working there.

give it a shot, send in a letter asking for a position, or drop in and ask for an application form.

B&Q are good yes, but unfortunatly there are seriously limited jobs for under 18's and most of those over 18 are required to have a car (which you can legally drive of course)
do not know about homebase though

Part time jobs suck when you're that age. I remember applying for a job in Dixons and they offered £3.00 p/h which sucked because I already had a job earning £6.25 but it was the  most boring job ever and I wanted to quit.

I got a job working at Dominos last year, but as a driver. In store pay is alright I think though.

When I was at school, most of my friends had jobs at Sainsburys/Safeways, etc.  I broke the mould and went for Boots (the Chemists) and they were good to me.  But then that was almost 20 years ago.

I laugh at you all!

I'm a glass collector (Upgrading to barman in September as I'm 18 wooohooo!)
I earn £4.60 and hour and all I have to do is work from 7:30pm - 11:30pm on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday!

£54 a week for me! Muhahahahaha.

I hardly collect any glasses due to people bringing them back, so all I have to do is stock fridges and clean glasses. Sometimes helping in the restaurant. (Also when I'm "supervised" I serve drinks due to a loophole in the law)

I love my job......

Are you being ironic or are you genuinely proud?

Smackrats on the dole earn more than that just for signing on once a fortnight.

I'd have you working for me, I'm a good boss, and talk bf2 all day with staff.  Pay would be shit but I'd be a very interesting job and a laugh too, but you live too far away and I've found the more we employ the more shit we get so sorry dude.

Do as mentioned above or if not, Communications Direct (might be Cardiff only) but you start there on £5+ an hour selling mobiles over the phone.

Try and get yourself doing something boring like stacking shelves, or even better post office. It might be robotic work but there is a very good ladder to climb.

Wait for the summer and go and pick fruit with the Polish.
I'm from Cardiff :p what job is it?

Supermarkets generally have a high turnover of staff and are always looking for part/full time work. I did a paper round myself for three years before starting at my local Sainsburys store and it was a really good company to work for. The pay at supermarkets is slightly higher than minimum wage usually and you generally get a discount card for shopping there after a few months of working there which is a bonus for yourself or whoever else does the shopping. If you ask at your local supermarkets there is generally something on offer
