is it worth it?

im looking @ a board atm without Sli and the next board up (bout extra £10 has Sli)

question is is it worth it for the future proofing?

im not interested atm with Sli

im just puttin a 7900GS into it and leave it be @ that

i just ask is it worth spending that more fore the extra slot?

PCI-e?  Hell yes, but it is not exactly, 'futre proof' but certainly PCI proof and that will be with us a while yet.

stick with the non sli one. Because in a few years(or even months) when you upgrade to vista, you'll need a new DX10 Card to get better performance.

And of course, you'll also need a new processor further along the line, and the chipsets are defiantly going to be different so you'll need a new motherboard then.

Depends what the other features of the boards are.

no ive had it with sli, it was no less expensive than getting a bigger card up front, caused hassle with my soundcard and actually introduced a stutter in certain situations that I dont get with one card, the mobo cost me more, the cards generate a stack of heat - pain in the arse tbh
