Ahoy!

I just got a new computer yesterday, and I couldn't wait to throw all my BF2 settings on high with no lag!
It all works and stuff, I can play fine on all high settings (constant 99 fps, drops to 85 occasionally) but one thing I did notice is when I try to change the 'dynamic shadows' setting to high, it automatically goes back to off. Ive tried changing it in the BF2 options itself, and by editing my profiles video.con file, still forces it off.
What could be the problem here?

One more question, how can I tell if my ram is running in dual channel?

Thankya in advance! .

slots 1 and 3  and slots 2 and 4 are the dual channel pair..(i think)....... so if you have two sticks... make sure one is in slot one and the other is in slot 3
and damn that problem sucks    goodluck

Go to My Documents then Battlefield 2 then Profiles then click the folder that represents the folder that you use on the login screen (IE: 0001 is the very top, 0002 is the next one down...etc). Now go to video.con and open it with Notepad.

Find "VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 0" and change the number to what you want (1 = low, 2 = medium, 3 = high). Save this file and close Notepad.

Go back to My Documents\Battlefield 2. Click mods, then bf2, then cache, and delete all folders within cache. This will reset the optimized shaders.

That should fix it.
