Help with a keyboard

Just got a Saitek Eclipse 2 keyboard after my other keyboard broke, and need help.

Many times Ill run itunes while bf2 is open, and on this keyboard there are song play buttons that let you play the previous or next song. Thing is, I can only do this when my Itunes window is up on windows, like I cant even change the songs with this bf2s window is up. But, there is no way that this is just how it is, or is it....

If anybody can, help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately my guess would be your keyboard only works with it maximized. What about WMP?

It only works when the itunes window is sitting in front of me opened up, and hold on ill try wmp...

Atm I really dont know if it works with wmp, but does anybody have any other suggestions?

Not to mention, my brother has that keyboard and it wouldnt fit on my puny computer desk

Im really hoping somebody on here owns the same keyboard I have that has had this issue before...

I have a G15 and it works in game with that. And believe, me, it doesn't work any other way. I tried before I got my G15. You can use winamp and assign global hotkeys, that works with it minimized, but IMO itunes is better than winamp.

I dont think the common person on here will search posts that I entered hours ago.
In this situation editing will do nothing, know how I know how, most people wouldnt look for this thread. But after I just bumed it, a bunch of replies came in

is it really that big of a deal that one post from a person who is pissed and bumped it for the benefit for himself shows up on the front page. Is it really taking away from other members when they see this..

I stopped running some other programs and it worked while minimized.

But, as soon as a I opened IE it stopped. I think it has to do with OTHER programs recognizing the key. This also occured when running bf2. So, could somebody possibly guide me as to how to get IE and BF2 to stop recognizing a certain key or where to find the recognized key directories (if they have something of the sort)?

You either need to search on your own (google is your friend) or be patient. Your first and second posts are less than 10 minutes apart.

It sounds like the issue is that the built in iTunes hotkey functionality only works when the window is in focus, so some of these external iTunes hotkey applications may help, though I think BF2 also has a part in preventing any hotkeys from getting outside of the game.

its not the keyboard, its the application. does it for me too and i have a zboard. but when windows media player 11 is minimized it still works. if only i had volume controls for the PLAYER and not just the entire system sound that would be nice.
