I read that Northern Strike will only be available through EA link.
Will it be installed immediately on your Hard-disk, or is there a possibility that it can be burned to a DVD to store it in case of a computer crash?

How about this then, how do u (or can u) put 2142 and/or NS onto a blank DVD if you bought it from EA downloader?

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Why would you do that for... You can always download the game from EA link with no problem.

Dosn't AF and EF run off the same BF2 CDKEY?
So couldn't you just copy the CD for someone else?

Takes ages, and I'd like to install it on multiple machines (desk and laptop).

Yeh u just put the exe on a disc once you have installed it from the ea link cache folder, if u try it before u install it you will find its all gay files in the cache folder.

When you download it you pay then you download to your hard drive and install it. But if your computer crashes you will have to re-download but you will not have to pay again. I wouldn't reccomend putting it on a DVD disc cuz it may make the game security freak out and bad things may happen. So I would just reccomend download only.

lol, i know in BF2 the boosters were downloaded into the Mods folder with a setup.exe probably the exact same thing on the Booster compilation DVD. so i copied AF onto my external drive with a note to where it went, so in the future i could just put the files in there and when i went to download it it would be there and just install itself.

thing is, i think basically the boosters are associated with your EA account... so you could install them however you like as long as you have a legit access to the content online ie when you login to 2142 with same login you use for EA Link you are allowed to use your booster pack.

i wouldn't worry to much about the booster if you are overseas or have credit so bad you cant get a debit card, or are too young to have a debit card. im sure this has all been taken into consideration.

personally, i think the maps and Field Upgrade Unlocks are gonna be ad supported for those who do not buy.

I would like that very much.
The reason is that if i pay for something, i want to 'own' it. 'having it on my harddisk somewhere' doesn't feel good to me (i know, i'm funny that way).
I want to know that when i'm installing the whole game later in life, i still have all the recourses.

<rant>
I do not like the way we are going with this whole DRM and 'if your X-box has a different operatingsystem on it, next time you log on, we reset it' shit.
It's my stuff, you may have thought it up, but i bought it! it's mine to do as i please. now F*CK OFF!!moneygrabbing übercontroling freaks!
