Can the engineer lay down at one time? Does it work the way BF@ on the 360 does? I think on that one, you can lay 9 mines, and when you lay your tenth one, the first one you laid down disappears. You can keep laying them, but you'll just start to replace the ones you laid earlier? I checked the class wiki for Engineer before posting and didn't notice that bit of info anyplace.
u can lay down 5 mines at once then they start to disappear if u throw more
On PC BF2 , you can lay 5 down before the 1st one will dissapear. Songhau Stalemate IMO is the best place to lay mines, anywhere with water more this map mostly.
A good place to lay them aswell is under the speed boats under the Essex.

One in the road (to be seen) 3 in the grass, for when they swerve off the road. One of my favorite ways to kill.
sharqi TV is great for that, put 2 in the road where the tank comes from and 3 around the corner for when they drive around the back seeing the 2 in the road, most drive along the wall line and theres some nice grass tufts there.
Hide them behind the road blocks coming from the Outpost, that and on top of the hill near the city entrance!Mad Ad wrote:

Zatar Wetlands is a great place for AT mines. Try the hill where the chopper spawns. It is always changing hands and the first soldiers in are usually in speeding buggies or apcs. Plenty of kills if you stick around and hide.
ive never thought of doing that! but i can see why it works!1927 wrote:

The underneath of the boats is not just sea- it has a base to it, but of course is under the water enough so you cannot see you, and it generally doesnt effect you- if you throw a grenade you should get an idea of how low down it is.
Warlord wins easy for mines, there are so many small entrances and dips in the road you just cant seem them, nearly all my kills with mines were on there!!
Ok we dont need the same answer repeated by 15 different people.
^^^^^^^
Have you even read the posts, none are repeated so shut up!!!!!

Maybe someone should do some birdseye diagrams for some good mine laying techniques??? Just a thought. I rarely use mines, but if I could be more effective then it may be nice to play engineer more.
The original question is 5 mines before they are replaced by new mines if you get resupplied with more.
And another good mine tactic is so raid the enemy's uncap just like a Spec Op class place a mine near a wheel on the parked planes in the hanger or under the Heli's and some other vehicles if they are around.
Even if there are no vehicles currently in the spot where you put the AT mine there probably will be spawning soon. Just lay them in the right spot and kinda wait around lurking, the vehicle will spawn but of course won't explode until someone gets in it. I love doing that near the airplane hangers.
You can also put them in (such as in the open back on the Humvee) or on top (jump on top of vehicle and put mine).
I've done it twice before, dropping mines while parachuting and getting a vehicle to run over them.
If you can get the right angle you can also jump onto a occupied tank and drop a mine and usually jump off in time before it explodes or before you get shot.... most of the time.

not birseye views, but this is pretty helpful....daffytag wrote:

I went through quite a long AT Mines phase!
Shongau, Zatar both good maps for them, but I found Surge the best...<shameless plug>

The maximum you can lay is 5 mines, HOWEVER, if you die respawn and lay another 5, the first 5 will still be there for a limited time eg 30 secs.
I actually think they're most effective at the top of the hill to the TV station. You can't really see it from the inside there and it gets a lot of kills. I also put one in the path to go behind the tv station. That way, they can't get too close with a ground vehicle.silo1180 wrote:
