Here are the pics, I want to know if that looks exchangeable.  Note that there is roughly an inch of clearance between the PSU and the drives.  The quality isn't that great because this pic was taken on the cheaper model of the Motorola Razr.

yes it will. 1st thing though take it out and and measure it length width and height. Go to newegg cause you can be certain that they will have measurements on power supplies

Finally making some progress. Pretty soon maybe i'll even be able to kiss the Radeon 9600 goodbye.

Looks kinda small in the pic, could just be my eyes. If it is a dinky one and you cant get one to fit just buy a new case, wont cost much more.

Is that PC an HP? It might have a funny sized motherboard.

Turn that fan around on your case so it's exhaust and not intake.

That is probably a micro ATX psu, so you will have problems finding a psu that will fit your case. Also make sure the psu you get is still compatible with your motherboard.

Newegg seems to have a healthy abundance of micro ATX PSUs.  By compatible with my motherboard, do you mean the the 20 pin thing?  I already looked and this mobo is 20 pins.

As for the 250w comment, why do you think i'm still using a shitty Radeon 9600?  lol

yea you need at least 350-550 watt psu for good gaming.

I have NEVER seen good gaming then.  Never saw BF2 up close on anything better than a Radeon 9600 either.  Will a larger PSU also give you better performance since it supplies more power to the parts?

No

parts either have the power they need or they dont, in which case they will fail or develop intermittent faults at peak drain.

Is that a homebuild system? because if its a dell (or one of similar borg box pc brands) then the psu will have a proprietary connector and you cant just swap it for a bog standard atx without modding.

Also the psu has a label on it, read it and use the info for the replacement.

There is no visible label on my current PSU.  It's an HP Pavilion 750n.  So far the power supply seems to look removable.  I'll just have to take the plunge and get a PSU of a size that looks like it'll fit and hope that it is removable and that the PSU fits.

Yes, that's standard ATX, that's a breeze. You may have a rough time getting it out, and the new one in that small space. You'll have to slide those CD-ROMS out while you swap the PSU's out.

BTW I have the same exact size 400w PSU sitting in my closet, if you need it I'll sell it on the cheap.

20 bux + shipping, we can do it VIA paypal so you'll have proof of payment, I won't stiff ya, you know where I hang.

Will this work even though my mob is only 20 pins and this one is 20+4 pins?  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6817338009

You don't always have to connect each PIN, if your PSU doesn't support all of the PINS it can still be compatable, you can still plug it in the clip connection wont line up, and you'll have 4 vacant slots but it'll still work. I've done it numerous times.

Damn.  That's the perfect size, perfect power amount, AND you use Paypal, something's got to wrong with this deal with my luck, lol.  Seriously though, i'd be up for it.

Thats a horribly nasty psu btw but if you are strapped for cash then I guess youve no choice.

Perhaps the label is on the other side? Its odd not to have one at all.

This style of 24 is fine, if you look carefully the +4 bit is removable

I'll be home around 3:45.  I'm on a shitty school issue Dell Optiplex GX280 right now, lol.  The only thing these are good for is stealing parts out of.  I want one of these LCD monitors SOOO bad.  Everything looks better on this thing than my current monitor and it's using integrated video.
