Well here's an interesting poll.

I personally would approve of the stats being reset, new leaderboards to climb. I think you would have more to play for again just like back in the day.

I think that the lower ranked guys will be against this idea though, but you never know!

To be honest yea. One reason because now i know what guns to choose and not to, what maps best for sniping, chopper, jets etc.

TBH if they did I'd probably move on and find another game.  I play a hell of a lot less than i use to and the only reason i still play is that I set myself a challenge of getting some specific badges before I'm done.  If i got set back a year then i don't think i could be arsed to start again.

make the points you get from kills exponential..

infantry
1 kill = 2 points
2-4 kills = 3 P.P.K (points per kill)
4-8  kills = 4 P.P.K
8+ kills = 6 P.P.K

jets
1-10 = 1 point per kill
11-30 = 2 PPK
31-50 = 3 PPK
51-74 = 4 PPK
75+ = 6 PPK

choppers:
one extra point per ten kills, starting from 1.

tanks:
same

if you die, you start over again.

dieing makes you loose points, 2 for infantry, 10 for choppers, 20 for jets, for armor it depends on the map (loosing 10 points per death while getting the crap bombed out of you on daqing oilfields would be a bit unfair.) also, jets would have to be balanced for points (getting shot down by a J-10 in an F-35 is less of a point loss)

thus, players who play well get far more points, instead of points merely representing how much you play

although, spawn killing would have to be given a single point only.. can you imagine the abuse? same goes for UCB rape

I like Sarge's idea but if they do that, I think they'd have to remove IO all together. However, I don't think they should reset the stats. A lot of people played a lot to get what they have, to make it all seem like it was for nothing seems wrong. And you can't say that people who oppose this idea is a statwhore because to want to do it is simply for you to get a better chance at being #1, and that's being a statwhore too.

I'd be pretty annoyed at a global reset of scores.

I like having my unlocks, they add variety to the game.  When I get bored playing a Medic I can switch weapon and try it out with a different gun.  I've been playing for nearly a year, and I still don't have the full set (getting close, but that last hurdle's a big 'un.)

I don't care about the leaderboards, I know I'm not one of the best players out there, and there are people with a lot more time available to put into the game.  The reason I like my stats is because they let me keep track of how I'm doing.  I get to see which kit needs more time, whether or not I need to work on my accuracy, how much I'm improving as a jet pilot, and all that other stuff.

If there was a reset, I'd probably still play, I guess, but I'd be pretty annoyed.  If you want to see how you'd do against other people, get a gang together and start new accounts.  Put all those new accounts onto a new BF2s leaderboard, and see how you get on.  Who cares where your stats put you globally?  Does it really matter if some guy you've never met who spends thousands of hours throwing grenades on Karkand has a better K/D ratio?

Also, I kinda like Sarge's idea too.  Extra points for making kill-streaks would give people incentive to try and keep themselves alive, rather than suicide-rushing somewhere just because they know that the worst that can happen is a 15 second wait.

I think that a reset of everyone would encourage people to quit playing or stat-pad... and thinking about that makes me a sad panda.

I stopped playing bf2 because i basically hit a wall at 25,000 points and the game got stagnant. If everyone got reset I'd probably pick it back up and play again, and I think many other people who are at the same spot I am would agree? Idk thats why i picked up 2142 fast points

Definetly not. It took me 1 year to get my stats. It would have been a complete waste of time for me if they did that. There would be absolutely no point in reseting them. It wouldnt give a fresh start at all. Its still the same old game regardless of ranks. Also, If your bored of the game then stop playing it.

Some of us dont play 24/7 because we have better things to do, ive only amassed 200 hours since release. I wouldnt enjoy spending another year getting those 20000 points back.

EA should let us reset our own stats if we want to.

You can, just send in a pic to bfROE of you stat padding.

I would be all for a reset. I would thoroughly enjoy the posts that would ensue. I'm sure there would be lots of rage, destruction, and perhaps some E-suicides.(I would not find the e-suicides entertaining-disclaimer)

Man, if they did that, the leaderboard fags would have over 2 million points in less than a month.
