I'm curious how this show has sustained airing since 1966.  I flipped through channels the other day and just stopped at The 700 Club because honestly, besides the press Robertson got for wanting to execute dictators, I had never seen the show.

I have to say, what a bunch of garbage. I don't see how the MOST religious person could stand listening to that  drivel.

Pat Robertson is completely and utterly ridiculous in every sense of the word. If he didn't have his own show he would be a piss covered bum yelling gospel from the seedy alleys of some metropolis where no one pays any mind to the homeless piss smelling bums. I waited for the commercials to see who sponsered this shit.

Pat Robertson annoys me, but if he has a sizable tv audience, advertisers want to get in front of them.  The few times I've landed on his show while flipping the channels his guests have been good, but he just plain bugs me.  Oh and please don't lump all "evangelicals" in with him, either.  There's several weird guys with tv shows that don't represent the majority.

It's some kind of mass hypnosis.....

I drive by this giant cathedral like church in my town, and they have this animated electric billboard out front-the kind you see at a bank or credit union- and it reads something about a fund raiser to help starving children. This sign probably cost a small fortune. Is it still called irony when the bs is that deep?

I came across that a day or two ago, so when you posted this I just couldn't resist.

I watch it merely for the oppurtunity to laugh.

My favourite was Robertson detailing the miraculous recovery of a young man who prayed often, as did his family. However, how this man was injured was on a bus to a Christian camp. The bus was in a serious accident, and five died. How deliciously ironic, considering the nature of Robertson's focus: That one's story seemed to be from God's love.

So you choose to focus on the circumstances of the accident and ignore the miraculous recovery?  Ok, to each his own.

It's because religion has a pretty solid demographic that isn't going away anytime soon. There is another one that uses infomercial space and it is 10 times worse because they just try to convince you that armageddon is here and to be a racist.

I focus on the circumstances on the accident purely because Pat Robertson seems insistent that one's recovery was proof of God's love. Much of the program seems to be attempting to prove God's existence. Yet, it was a bus full of Christians that crashed, and several perished. I find it ironic, considering Robertson's intention. He focussed on the miraculous recovery and ignored the circumstances of the accident.

Fair enough.  I believe it comes down to what focus one chooses.  If one believes God is loving and has a purpose in what He allows, then they would focus on the recovery.  If one does not believe God is loving, then naturally they would focus on the accident.

The average IQ is 90 to 100.  That explains a lot, actually.

I did feel a little less intelligent after watching the show.  Hope it's not a lasting effect.
