So I my parents surprised me by buying me a 7950 gt nvidia card and just installed it.  I have all the drivers working on there, newest ones and everything.  The card is getting enough power, I have 575 watt power supply and its hooked up to it.  The problem is when I try to run any game (battlefield 2 or oblivion) it won't let me set anything higher than medium settings which is crazy since my old card was a 6800 gt.  I tried evga tech support and they are pretty much worthless.  After we checked to make sure that I had the latest driver they really didn't know what to do.  Also I ran a benchmark test with Performance 6.0 and usually i come out with a total score of 645 for my machine but now it has dropped to about 603.  EVGA says its not the card and they want me to go back to old drivers which i did and it still doesn't work.  So any ideas from you guys?
Other than send this one back and get a 6800 or a 6600 ultra which I'm probably going to do for a 6600 when they come out (since evga has that just send it back in and pay the difference deal) but I would like this one to last me until then.

as always +1 for any help.

I mean the only thing I can figure is the card is just defective...but evga was emphatic that it was some PC problem.  i have a feeling its problem just going to be an RMA

i cant see it being a problem,

as the card is displaying on the monitor

have you tried editing the video.con file?

also bf2 detects the best performance for YOUR pc

just because you can play it on high doesnt mean you should.

im shure i read somewhere that some certain hardware have to be DFI certified (as DFI are Jap)

dont know im looking into it

edit: BIOS Upgrade maybe?

BIOS configured correctly?

Well the wierd part is with the same pc when I had the 6800 gs which is a much weaker card in terms of memory and speed 600 mhz compared to I think 400 mhz for the 6800 and that defaulted everything on high.

Latest Drivers from nvidia?

i presume

did you do a driver cleaner before installing the new ones?

that always causes issues

www.drivercleaner.com

download and read the manual VERY CAREFULLY

i cannot stress that enough

if you follow that correctly it may solve the problem

if you cock it up then well..

try that

if your worried about doing it yourself, get someone with exxperience to help you

its prety straight forward though

Did you check to see if your motherboard is compatable.  Ive read that this card is kinda fussy.  Here is a link to nvidia mobo compatability.

http://www.nvidia.com/content/geforce_gx2_sbios/us.asp

I didn't see the cfx3200 on there but they did have dfi
