Care to explain what this means, and what should I do? I tried uninstalling the game, and that won't work, I just get a setup error.

Try cleaning the cache folder to force it to re-optimise. To do this go to:

Documents and Settings\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

And delete everything INSIDE the cache folder, DO NOT delete the cache folder itself just everything in it. Hope that helps!

Tried that, but there was no "mods" section. Once I got to Battlefield 2, all I saw was "LogoCache", "dmp", and "profiles".

I had this same problem while ago with battlefield 2.  Go there http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/ph … _topview=1
then after you remove bf2 completely from your pc reinstall battlefield 2 and it should work fine.

Make one. Make a mods folder and then inside that make a bf2 folder and inside that make a cashe folder.
