If points and awards mean nothing, why do some people desperately want the stats of others reset?

My guess is so that they can have a chance against all those nasty G36 users and padders to make the leaderboards.

No, but not because I care about my leaderboard position or rank.  It's because it took me a while to rank up and get my unlocks which I so dearly love
