Hey guys, i need your help, my G7 has decided that it doesn't want to work.

the problem is the mouse pointer is stuck in one place on my screen.(no movement at all)

i have tried to re-connect the mouse and i have checked the batteries, are charged.
When you look at the mouse the little orange DPI display is telling me that the mouse is constantly changing DPI. (i have checked that the DPI buttons aren't stuck down)

Do any of you guys know why it would do this??

Any help is much appreciated.

(please no posts saying logitech are shit or use a wired mouse thx)

look in the manual and see if you can do some sort of hard reset, if you cant try to uninstall the driver/software and reinstall it.
if that doesnt work i have no idea, but ive been using logitech wireless for a few years now and have never had an issue.
good luck.

only thing i had with my g7 is that it jumped over the screen when i tried to move it. on the bottom of the battery loader there is a switch boost and normal mode i move that 2 times and it worked again. strange because that button is for fast or slow charging. but it helped me.

and G7 is the best mouse i ever had.

There's very little to try unfortunately...just shots in the dark.
-Try it on another PC is you can.

-If you're using the logitech software, try switching to the default MS mouse driver and see if it works.  I like logitech mice, but honestly, they've never been capable of making a good mouse driver.

-I don't have a G7, but if it uses a common battery size, try swapping.  I know you said it took a charge, but rechargeable batteries can have a single cell go wierd, and there's a slight change the mouse isn't getting the proper voltage.

-When you checked the button, do you mean you opened it up and checked the 'real' button?

-Probably will not make a difference, but you could try opening it up and spraying it out with electrical contact cleaner.  Hell, check for cold solder points while you've got it open.

Other than that, there isn't much you can do to your typical mouse these days.

I waited until the end to say it, but I too vote for a wired mouse replacement.  Most every wireless mouse I've ordered for someone at work has died within 2 years.  The only exceptions have been Logitech's wireless optical trackball doodads that just work great, only requiring new batteries from time to time.

Oh...and never use Logitech software.  You've been warned!

Have you tried reinstalling the mouse software?

Not that you asked but I've used only Logitech mice since I was like 12 & have never, ever had a single problem so all these people telling you Logitech are shit don't know what their talking about.

They actually have really good tech support (which is rare anymore) & since i have no idea what's wrong I'dd tell ya to give that a try.

well i have had logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo for 2 years, and it has worked perfectly with logitech software.

Try to reconnect and check your batteries.

That, however is a rather interesting idea, since you can't be sure it ain't really broken...

But if the mouse is really constantly swapping dpi rate, how about removing batteries and inserting again (-> resetting) or just letting the battery fade out? Might work afterwards again.

And for those that keep yelling : wireless is the shit ; wrong. I have player BF2 for 600 hours and a load of other games with the MX1000. No problems there.
