hey, does anyone know what the little buttons next to squads in the command screen are for ? Highlighted them in a screenshot in case you don't know which ones I'm on about.  I guess they have something to do with muting coms but I'm not sure.  I have the Prima Strategy guide but cant see anything about it in there.

P.S. In this screen shot you can also see that squad 2 is grayed out i.e. I cant send commands to them. Anyone had this problem and know why that is. I'm guessing it's some option to ignore the commander that I don't know about. If that's so it sucks and completely defeats the whole object of a command structure.

Squad 2 is gray because it doesnt exsist anymore.
For example... if you are first to create a squad, it will be called squad "alpha". then it will go on and on. If you than dismantle your squad there will be no more alpha squad. But the next person that creates a squad will ge the ALPHA squad. So as a commander you will often see squads like that (grayed out I mean).
And on your screenshot the botom icon means that you have muted squad 3. You do this by clicking on that ICON. If you click again you will un-mute it.

OK, cool that's pretty much what I thought but just wanted to confirm.  Does the 'muting' mean that the squad leaders voip is muted, requests are muted or both?

SL's VOIP is muted, requests aren't.

Oh, and pay attention to the flashing yellow square... or someone will be very, very annoyed at you.
