Snipers are complicated beasts. I have had many times on karkand when all of the action is in the MEC side of the river adn as an american sniper, ill just chillax and have a six pack shillin around the square when a squad would sneak in and try to cap the flag. So I rain down 3 grenades on their heads and remove their brains while they are prone in the corners hiding...neve rknowing im directly above them. As a result, the opposing team could not spawn behind our frontlines and attack my fellow soldiers from behind.......quite possibly singlehandedly ensuring our teams victory and saving countless lives for the team.

That's rubbish, in TWL and CAL, even mentioning a term like "suppressive fire" will get anyone laughed at.IronFerret wrote:
accuracy is a pointless stat.. what about supresive fire?.. some times its helpfull to shot to some areas, almost random.
Suppressive fire is a term best used in more serious strategic games like Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon, but not here.
Oh, and 60% with sniper rifle 'tis me.
Alpha as fuck.
Suppresive fire does nothing but tell everything where you are and increase your deviation so someone can take you out even more easilyNyte wrote:

Don't shoot at things you can't hit. Lots of times I see teammates just waste ammo when they are waiting for a vehicle to spawn. All this does is waste ammo and lower your accuracy both global and for that specific weapon.
For longer distances try using single fire instead of full auo. I picked some guy off of the roof of the West Perimeter flag with a P90 using single shot before he knew where I was. I also have picked off some snipers on the launch pad on Surge with various weapons on single shot from strange angles because they don't expect to be shot at from medium range with regular assult rifles on single shot.
When using full auto try to burst fire it. It will keep the deviation down. Lots of people complain about the G36E. I love it once I got used to the burst fire instead of full auto on it. The only thing I don't like is the M16 burst is spread wider than the G36E and I don't believe the difference is that great between the 2 in real life.

I am not in the least bit intrested in global accuracy. I would never suggest holding off a shot because I might miss. If there is a chance of a hit, take the shot and worry about your stats later (mainly your K : D)
I have said it before and I will say it again... If el_campo_de_sniper is all alone on some random building and all your flags have been capped he is likely not a good player as ANYTHING! If you gave him the G36E on steroids firing .50 cals he would probably only go 1:1. This type of player will only bleed tickets faster trying to be a CQB player and its probably a blessing for your team that he went and hid far far away.
As to the snipers are useless.... O RLY?
Please.

I'd rather have my 21% and 2.0 KDR
Yes, but I'm not big on sniping. I'd rather rush in with an ak101/m16/ak47
Tried and True methods of "Accuracy-Padding":
- Shooting choppers with any accurate gun (.50cal, M95, PKM etc).
- Sniping players who stand still (As in, these are the only people who stand still)
- .50cal-ing enemy jeeps.
- Excessively snipe.
- Make a new account, kill one person with one shot, and command the rest of the time.

Here's a better, faster way to increase your global accuracy:
1. Grab a support weapon.
2. Find an enemy Armor or any other vehicle
3. Shoot all your ammo into it

Enemy vehicles can shoot back. Attack the UAV.Drexel wrote:

K/D ratio of 1.01 and you think he's good? Oh dear.Todd_Angelo wrote:

I started practicing sniping primarily to try to get on a par with a friend who introduced me to the game, so we could go as a two-man sniping squad. He's the best FPS sniper I know personally and his stats show something of how skilled he is:
Global accuracy 29.75%, K/D Ratio 1.01.
The M2s in the game, as with all fixed weapons and vehicle weapons, don't count toward accuracy.Fenris_GreyClaw wrote:

Not quite. Armoured vehicles don't take damage from small arms... you don't get hit indication when you shoot a tank, do you?Drexel wrote:

I list my stats at the time in that post don't I? Compare 'em to now; me then = total noobie. Me now = not so much.

Original post.. so old..
Who gives a flying fuck about your GLOBAL ACCURACY!? What kind of person goes into their owns stats and has pleasure in looking at it? OH boy, 20% accuracy! I just won at life! It's so useless...it's just...there...
I'm pretty happy with my global acc. Most in part, to my sniper rifle acc.
Anytime you see an enemy vodnik or car drive by you, just shoot at him with your gun. You won't kill him, but every shot will register as a hit, and it will help your accuracy.
Blehm shall be smitten by god for reviving this thread!
considering my new favorite class is support, I no longer care about accuracy , not that any support player should
ok.. well when a sniper kills someone, them being not albe to be revived..thats one less ticket for the enemy.. if a sniper...a good one.... takes about 20-40 out. thats forty tickets.. when was the last time you took out 40 tickets just by yourself. im sry but i think that taking tickets off the enemy team is helping you winMarkPuppets wrote:
Personally, I think snipers are total useless rubbish. WHY? Cuz I have never ever seen them to help win the game, they just camp in one place and the last to die. Snipers only care about thier "own" personal score NOT the team or winning. Who gives a jack about global score anyway ??
Basically, it's the most basic definiton of teamwork that exists in this game.11sog_raider wrote:

My gobal accuracy always hangs around the 25-26% mark.
But at 62.4% my sniper accuracy is 123rd globally and 10th in the UK, which im pretty proud of.

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
wait, how do you have 53 hrs with Assault rifles, but don't have even close to 53 hrs with Assault + Medic?KILLSWITCH wrote:

Back when the PKM was a sniping weapon, my LMG accuracy was better than my Assault Rifle accuracy.fisher339 wrote:
