1. PKM - best gun ever
2. AK-101 - good at most everything
3. Jackhammer - It rips through anyone like nothing else, and can actually kill someone with 1 shot, unlike the DAO
4. G36C - most accurate non-sniper gun in the game, period
5. M24 - awesome sight, great accuracy, 95 damage
6. G36E - it kills people fast
7. AK-47 - a lot like the AK-101, just don't get to use it much b/c it's on PLA maps, and they are much less CQC
8. P90 - I love the laser sight, only gripe is that it has crap damage
9. F2000 - I love this gun, it's just that i don't play Assault as much as i used too, so i like it less
10. L96A1 - it's the L96, who doesn't like this gun?

You know, the way BF2 is balanced there is no best gun. All of them have great strenghts and weaknesses, in the end it is no thing more than personal preferance.

But for all the 1.12ers, the G36C is hands down the best gun. In 1.12 the G36C's devation was 0.12, the M16's was 0.3 so you get the picture of how good it used to be.
