If someone punishes you, you don't get -8. You get -4 regardless if you got punished or not. Punishing is only used to kick people (4 punishes and that person gets kicked).

depends on what the server is set at for the how many punishes till your kicked.
Regardless - yes! punishes has nothing to do with your dishing out negative points to the guy killing you - he has already gotten those thank you very much..
Think about that the next time you step on someones mine/claymore, he will be "punished" regardless, and it was your fault for not seeing the gigantic red skulls...
Personally, I'll punish for a deliberate shot in the face, or if he wants hardware i got, and most importantly, if he doesn't apologise.. For me atleast - an apology goes a long way

i punish when it's deserved.
i think there should be a punish stat for given and recived punishments. i also think that when someone is TKed it should show what weapon that person was TKed with, instead of [Teamkills] to help people decide if a punish is deserved. i also also think that it should show up for everyone to see on a server if someone has punished someone else to better detect punish happy n00bs.

But then again, I rarely, if ever, punish pilots - I suck at piloting, and therefore has a great deal of respect to those who manage to control all the elements of flying a plane succesfully..

Edit: In 99% of the cases, i dont punish cause those tks are accidental.

Bah, I hate it when some n00b sees you with a gun unlock and tk's you, then takes the gun for themselves. It happened when I was a medic and another medic ran straight up to me, tked me, took my L85A1 and revived me so that I came back with an M16...

Team damage is defined as taking 50% of health or more from a teammate in one life. If you tk them after that, you get -4 points for the tk + -2 points for the damage. If you tk them with one shot / explosion (although I don't encourage this) you'll get just -4 points.
As for punishing, I never punish if someone says they're sorry, and 99.9% of the time I don't punish. Period.
It'd be nice if I got a little gratitude in return.
