hey whatsup. im a total noob to PC components and stuff like that (wanted to get that out of the way before we started)

Well ive been looking around the forums at making the game load faster and such, and saw alot of people saying to get more RAM. well thats what i wanna do. I have the eMachines T6524. well my question is, about how much would this cost? where could i get about 1 more gig of ram? how do i install it? can i even install it on this machine? ya know, things like that. any answers would be super helpful. thanks.

(yeah i know everything probably doesnt make sense but, like i said, im a nobo when it comes to this.)

EDIT: My PC is totally stock so far except i added an ATi Radeon X800

Hi.
Ok, you have PC3200 ram. GOOD NEWS. i know some super fucking fast ram that would fit ya. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6820227210
its a tad bit expensive and there is cheaper, but i would recommend it.
Your on the right track by adding more ram, but keep in mind, map loading and multitasking is based on your Processor too!. youve got an Athlon 64 2.2ghz processor which is decent, so you should be set for processor speed.

PS: as for installing ram, SUPER EASY!
if you installed a video card, then installing ram is 100 times easier. Just pop out the old and push the new firmly in so the two hooks on each end snap in, you shouldnt have to snap the hooks in yourself, just keep pushing

theres the full list from newegg. you want PC3200 ram (that list is pc3200 only) and 184 pin ddr sdram (i believe most of them are)

I would recommend buying a 2gb package instead of just 1 more gig because the new ram will
A. be newer and last longer
B. they will match each other perfectly in speed, so it will make the best dual-channel setup (dual channel is when you have 2 sticks each containing half of the total. such as 2 1gb sticks)
Plus, if you add 1gb of high quality ram to 1gb of low quality ram, it will only perform as well as the low quality.

It accomplishes the same thing "Technicaly" but you get an extra tight fit when they hook themselves
