Suggestion 1

OK guys here me out I have been playing bf2 for a while now. I love this game it is the greatest game I have ever played but, THE WATER IS MEANINGLESS. I can't dive down or use a knife or use a gun. so basically I'm a sitting duck. So I have an idea that would change this game up a little bit. Make it to where we can go under water. That would keep from snipers or spec opps from shooting you and you can't do anything about it but just sit there and take it like a man.

Suggestion 2

If you can mater the water accesible you can includes submarines. Little man made subs about 12 feet long with missles and a radar system to guide you. Also with the idea of sub marines you should create scuba gear to keep it realistic. Have another kit and call it scuba. Scuba tank would appear when you are in the water and disappear when you are not in the water. I'm not monning or bitchign but lets just make the water to where you can dive down and be protected. Subs would work great on wake island 2007 Apc's can be amfibious so why not make another do the same to even it up. Apc's/boats are the only vehicles that you can use in the water to my knowledge so far lets add something else to chenge up the game a little bit.

The only real way to be killed while underwater is drowning, angry marine life, and small arms fire. Oh yeah, and the occasional absurdly huge explosion.

Normal rifle rounds DO NOT penetrate the water's surface; i.e. 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 12.7mm. Low velocity rounds, a la your pistol, would be and should be the only way to kill someone submerged in water.

Unless you play BF2 and you poke your head out of the water...

Maybe I'm suggesting for a "dive" feature.

if u want subs, go play bf42. there is no point in subs in bf2... would u want a sub in the inlet in karkand? that would be stupid.... maybe on wake, but its totally unnecessary, unless u could sink the essex.

A sub on Wake? Unlikely. Wake Island is basicly a sand bar. A raised hunk of land that a sub would be too big to navagate 'round. Anyway, there's nothing to sink in BF2. The programmers wanted a realsitic game and I'm pretty sure the Marines don't use small one man submarines.
I agree with the normal rifle round thing though. They do just skip over the water. The thing is of course, that people's heads stick above the water.

If you choose to swim in the water, make sure you don't have any enemies around you. Sometimes you can be caught with your pants down, but try to be subtle, and people shouldn't find you. It would be cool to be able to dive down, but with heavy weaponry? I don't know...

Awesomest thing happened to me though once on the Wetkands map. I was driving an APC, and I saw a whole squad swimming accross a river. I just ran all of them over. The last guy didn't even try to get away.

He probably means sonar cause radar doesnt work under water...

well i like the divin thing.. cause when underwater a .50 round wont kill you.. because u just said it you are a sittin dick out there.. and about the submarines.. I dont think its a good idea.. because then the other one should also have an submarine and then you should trace each other position but this aint gonna work because all submarines are all stealthy and noiseless so there would be no point of a submarine unless you could sink the carrier or fire missles onto land with it..

yup that's what I meant. I haven't had a chance to put sonar in sentence in a while lol. Subs used a method called ping(sonar) to transfer radio waves to see how far they are from an object. Learned that in highschool lol.

let's just change the game to dolphinwars. instead of being a human...youre a dolphin. you have guns strapped to your fins. then you can dive, use echolocation, and do tricks for fish.

submarines = idiotic.

being able to go underwater for a few seconds would be ok...but it sounds easily exploitable. then again, half the things in the game can be exploited anyway.

FYI, there were subs on many maps on bf42. wake included.

Have none of y'all heard of the SAS Pathfinders? They carry water-proof GPS swimboards with them. And it is possible to be able to see underwater in good 'ol BF42. Some mod called HydroRacers did it, can't remember how off the top of my head though.

i loved in desert combat how if you looked straight down and swam, your head went beneith the water (a glitch) and you press f10 to see where ur going, could sneak up on people so easily with that.
