I don't really know about power but I'd say 500w & up, 500 is probably good. Gimme a sec to find you a link someone posted today that figures it all out for you. brb.

So its not accurate? I was reading reviews on the psu i posted and some people said it sucked and didnt really put out 500w and i cant really find any cheap psu's on the site im buying the rest of my parts from and the cases they sell dont come with psu's so i have to pay extra. Or i could go with a gigabyte 3d aurora that comes with a 550w psu but im not sure what brand gigabyte use in their cases.

The thing is i found a site that has all the parts i want for cheap except the ram which is about $40 aus more then the other site but if i have to spend a extra $150aus on a good psu its not really worth going to the cheaper site

Never hard of that brand, EZCool. At that price I can't imagine it being a good quality unit. One of the Antec NeoHE PSUs(500 or 550W) from that site would be a better choice without spending too much.

Anyone know about the 550w psu gigabyte puts into their 3d aurura case? because i can get that for $209 aus and it comes with that psu alredy i guess thats better then paying $190 for the antec nine hundred case and $165 for a antec 550w psu to put in it.

I've never had any problems with Antec PSUs.

This is the PSU that I recommend. Looks good, preforms great, and comes with a cool little tool box. Also it's sli certified, and has a modular cabling system.

The people here are constantly misleading the OP.

For that system of yours you don't need any special wattage, 450W will do VERY well.
The most important thing to consider when buying a PSU, however, is that it's got ATX 2.2 standard - that's about the only thing you gotta care for.

I'm running a Seasonic S12 series 600W PSU and I've had absolutely no issues. System is very stable compared to what it used to be with the pos that came with it.

A decent PSU is the base for a stable PC, happy hardware, and the ability to upgrade other components without trouble.


My vote goes out to the ThermalTake Toughpower series, sleeved wires, lots of amps, looks good, quiet, and not too pricey.

I'm not totally sure what you two are about, but I never said he should buy some £9.99 crap, did I? I don't think any ATX 2.2 is available for that price out there. And as he asked what he'd need for his current rig (even with oc'ing the E6300 like hell) his system will NOT eat up more than 400W at any time!
Of course, you'll maybe need some more in the future (with the power-hungry gfx cards) but not with that very system.

High-quality PSU's are expensive enough even at pretty low wattages anyway...
