true enough, i only have a 3500+ with 521 vid card and heater is off, windows is even a bit open and i dont live in India. imagine that 6000+ beast
My old 3000+ used to reach 85 Degrees celcius..... (blue screen of death shortly after) My new 3800+ X2 64 only gets up to 35C with stock cooling and a $50AU case.

Yes, you are.

I think I read somewhere that in the name 3000+ etc it was saying its performance compared to a P4. 3000+ being the same as a P4 3.0GHZ.
Wow!

For every new CPU intel releases they make a new socket.
Wrong, P4 has been running on Socket 775 since uhm... more than 2 years? AM2 won't have been running for 2 years when AM3 comes out - or well maybe it will, depending on AMD's success...

C2D is 775 you P4 is _____ the P3 is ______ the P2 is_____ that reminds me the CPU placement in a P2 mobo is funny as those big ass heatsinks crack me up.
I don't want to be annoying, but what exactly do you want to tell us with this special statement? I mean, c'mon, P2 came out 9-10 years before C2D!

Ive had a P2 PC and that was the last Intel computer I ever bought. That was like in '99 or so it ran half life good .
Must've been earlier and AMD owned Intel finally with the Athlon 64. From that time to the release of C2D it made no sense buying an Intel.

Maybe you should learn what you are on about, i doubt you can be taken seriously after all your bullshit posts. Enjoy.
That's not a valid point, have you ever been on a C2D (no, of course not, you'd never buy one)? I've built rigs for friends both with Athlon and C2D and I know which ones are running faster, and I know which ones were cheaper. I-N-T-E-L.

35°C under full load? Such nonsense.

I'd just not post anymore spray_and_prey.  You're shortening your e-penis while effectively posting totally irrelevant statements about P2s.  No offense though.

I was (and still am kinda) an AMD fanboy such as yourself.  But there's no denying the performance and price gain the C2D has over AMD.  I still run my FX-55 and am still happy with it and my X1900XTX.  I built my friend a C2D system and it is considerable faster than my machine.  Though he's only got a X800GTO mated to it, it cant compare to mine in the games.  If I was to build a new desktop right now, it'd be plain retarded not to by a C2D.  That's why the new laptop I'm about to buy (as you can see the poll for a few threads down at this time) will be a C2D.  Unless I were such a fanboy that I wanted to help AMD out as much as I could by buying their product and help keep them in the game.    I'll put money on it that AMD wont die though.  Because that would suck for all CPU consumers for obvious reasons.  AMD will most likely come back with a CPU that'l put them back on top even though it's not in the forseeable future.

if you think about it price/performance amd and intel are about the same and switching from amd to intel is not cost effective.

Yeah, that's the whole reason I'm choosing not to go C2D right now.  I'm gonna keep my rig until something either really amazes me or I get a sudden burst in my income.

What are you talking about? Intel C2Ds outperform AMD cpus that run double their price. The price to performance ratio is nowhere near the same...it isn't even remotely close.

I said C2D's outperform AMD's and I HAVE used a C2D PC and slightly regret not making the change to intel. P2's I was replying to Pollux from my knowledge of intel I was not comparing it to a C2D. Anyone else wanna cry some more about this post?

AMD owns ATI, ATI is releasing a card which will lead the market in 2 or so months. I doubt AMD will see a downfall anytime soon.

Excuse me 35C default 40C under pressure.... hmmmm must be the air conned room. Will post pictures.
