2nd 8800GTX & 1,000 watt PSU are coming today & I was thinking as I sit here with my nose stuck to the window.....my 700w PSU says "SLI certified" so I might wanna test out the 2 cards on that & see if that thing can power them before I even open the new PSU & if it works I'll just send the new one back.

If I do this is there any possibility of a chance that I can damage one or both graphics cards?

there is a chance, but I don't see why 700w wouldn't push both.

If you've got 4 PCI-e power connectors and 18A on each of the 12v rails you could give it a try.

Here somebody ran 8800GTX SLi with a 500w:

500 is most definitely not recommended, but a 700W should be suffice. What kind of system are you running? Certainly check out outervision's (i think) psu calculator and fill in your specs. Your 700 should be able to hit around 750 ish at peak, although i don't recommend having it at its peak speed for very long.. certainly not a long term solution!

1000W is definitely enough, 1kw of power!

I wouldn't call the one Alienware gave me "high-end". On the voltage scale maybe but have you ever heard of the brand "HCI"? I know I haven't.

I'm running: CPU: AMD FX-62 @ 3.2GHz
GPU: 2x eVga 8800GTX in SLI
RAM: 4GB DDR2 @ 840MHz
Mobo: ASUS CrossHair
Audio:X-Fi XtremeGamer
HDD: 2x 250GB HDD's in 0
Optical: 2x 18x Dual Layer DVD±R/W
Plus a Zalman Reserator (but that plugs into the wall so I dunno if it uses PSU power or not) & 2 monitors.

That link you posted the other day says I need like 1,700 watts so I don't know if it's all that accurate
Gonna just hook up the new one i think, I don't wanna risk anything plus I could use the opportunity to organize all my wires anyway.

Thanks for the info though everyone.
