Ok, so i just hooked up dual monitors, they are both working fine, but i do have a few questions/problems!

here it goes, any help would be appreciated.

1.  can i extend the "start" toolbar to across both screens?

2.  i start up BF2 on my good screen, but everytime i  move my mouse over to the other one to click on a msn convo, it will minimize BF2, is there a way around this?

3.  How do i get the wallpaper to stretch to across both instead of each having the same on but seperate?  (p.s. i have a dual screen wallpaper, but it just squishes to each of the monitors instead of going across both)

4.  i'll post this question once i think of it.

1. Yes
2. No
3. Do number 1 and this one is fixed.

They have to have the same screen resolution for this to work.  Go to desktop properties > Check extend my desktop to other monitor.  If I remember correctly.  its been a while.

may i suggest using a program called ultramon. found at www.ultramon.com

its a fairly good program, it spreads your taskbar to the other screen, you can set shortcut keys to switch windows from one to the other or streatch over both etc. worth taking a look at.

You need drivers for them both in order for it work correctly.  Now if they were the same make and model or close then it would work without them.  But when you have the drives make sure they are set to same resolution.  Windows can do it without needing a separate program.

I'm pretty sure your video card needs to be able to support that (obviously).  My younger bro has 2 diff monitors, (a flat panel, and a regular flat screen...both different sizes and completely different) and it works just fine for him.  Now...if your card does in fact support it...I'm not sure what to tell u, I still roll with 1 monitor...until Supreme Commander comes out.

Well take it from me i had dual monitors for a few days, you cant talk with bf2 maximized. and i dont think you'll be able to get the task bar across both screens. There may be a way, but it might not be do-able

1. Not sure if this is possible in Dualview, maybe in Horizontal span, but this would also mean maximizing a window would cause it to fill up both monitors. (I run my dual monitors in Dualview and have the quick launch bar along the bottom of my second monitor for quick links to apps I use often.)

2. This is not possible.

3. After pointing windows to an image file with the correct dimensions set the position to 'tile' and it should correctly span both monitors.

Well I helped him and he tells me he has a 20.1" monitor and a 14" monitor.  The size difference is way to great to get what he wants.
