Needless to say, Battlefield 2 spawned a whole community of whining little pricks, that move in packs, with the sole group mentality to get the game so that it has everything they want.

Given time, ID will fall victim to these problems too, but they will probably be more efficient at patching all the things you dont want in.

Its food for thought, so think about it.
You know...
People wouldn't whine about BF2 so much if it was designed and programmed properly from the beginning.
The support that supposedly should correct those major mistakes should resemble that of a professional company.
EA's image shows that they desire money at the expense of quality.
Just look at NBA Live 07: http://www.nbalive.org/portal/page/525

This is just some of the small things that has happened over the year of BF2.
Special forces lost 3 medals, a ribbon, 2 unlocks, and 3 maps because it was forced to be released prematurely than expected.  The executive producer for BF2SF didn't even know that the Ariel Specialist Service Ribbon wasn't even obtainable to the players...
The two packages (Euro Force and Armored Fury) were originally planned to be given out free.  EA charged money for them.
EA lied about their 1.3 patch being released on February 18th.  (Euro Force was delayed)
Patch 1.4 was over 2 months late than what they had given for a release date.
Red/Blue Name Tag bug has never been fixed.
Patches add their share of problems than correct them.
The list goes on...
Ok, NBA Live was MADE BY and Sold under EA, This time for BF2 its DICE that are the devs, not EA

You do make some valid points though, if theres one thing about released that I cant stand, its Features that are left out due to it being rushed

Premature releases really kill a game, and in this case, BF2

It had a good run, but I think its time for that game to die

Hi..

There was some stuff in BF2 that needed to be fixed. You cant realistically expect someone to fire off a nade from less then a foot away, the nade explode and the shooter remain unharmed. Not to mention there was hte atrocious hitbox manipulation by 'dolphin diving'.

Have fun in Quake Wars.. maybe your beloved dolphin diving will make an appearance.

The Strogg should be able to dolphin dive, and the humans should be able to bunnyhop(the actual high-speed bunnyhopping, not what semi-retarded bf2'ers call bunnyhopping).

bf2 did not spawn a whole community of whiny pick... BF2 was a modern day game that all the army nuts (old randoms that have never played a game in there life) were immediantly attracted to.. they played it an bitched because it wasent realistic enough even if it ment  shortenin the distence between being pro an a n00b to an almost un noticible state.

qauke wars wont get nerfed and if so no where near as much as bf2 because the old randys dont want to play a game like qauke wars

People are still bitching, and some rightly so. Some of DICE's "fixes" have caused more problems than they solved. Being in the air now with magic dancing missiles is like being Magneto on angel dust in a ball bearing factory.

It shouldn't be too hard to beat 2142. I made the mistake of pre-ordering that, I've played it twice.

I've never had any problems with the quake series, so I'll give QW a go.

Fact is, BF2 introduced a lot of cool new stuff (from BF1942) but was also lacking in a lot of ways.  eg. The severity of bugs & amount of time taken to fix them, the LACK of additional content...BF1942 added how many maps over a series of patches?  BF2 added, what, one?
